When the internet was getting underway and some people were making big bucks off of it, the BartCop primitive wanted in on the action too.  After all, Skins was doing fine, so why shouldn't he?

So he dropped all of this remunerative gainful employment and started a web-site, figuring he'd make out like Skins did.

He forgot there could be only one Skins though, and he wasn't Skins.

One recalls Crazy Andrea and the freeloading stewert with his Bill Reilly site--they all thought they could make some big bucks here, and so concentrated their energies on that, instead of working in real jobs.

And, like every filthy liberal out there, someone else is stuck paying the bill in the end.  When all is said and done, he won't be remembered and it will be no great loss.
"We make men without chests and expect of them virtue and enterprise. We laugh at honor and are shocked to find traitors in our midst. We castrate and then bid the geldings to be fruitful."

C.S. Lewis

A community may possess all the necessary moral qualifications, in so high a degree, as to be capable of self-government under the most adverse circumstances; while, on the other hand, another may be so sunk in ignorance and vice, as to be incapable of forming a conception of liberty, or of living, even when most favored by circumstances, under any other than an absolute and despotic government.

John C Calhoun, "Disquisition on Government", 1840

Bart demonstrates the difference between Conservatives who plan for the future, and proggies who live for the moment.

Bart dies at 60 and leaves his widow with insurmountable debt. I retired at 54 with a mortgage free house and two good vehicles paid for, life insurance, funeral insurance, etc., etc., etc.

He deserved the anguish (if he really had any) of the death bed. His widow deserves the fruit of her poor choice in husbands. She took the ride, and now she has to pay for the ticket.

Don't know, but I hope he keeps it turned up to 11.

So far 2014 is producing a bumper crop of dead DUmmies, with more to come.

You're welcome, and I've modified it to go to 12 now.    :-)

As an extra added bonus concerning Dead DUmmie Buttcrap, there were no offspring mentioned in the obit, so at least it didn't procreate.   :II:

I vaguely remember this DUmmy, but from his site:

Quote
Last Word From Bart

Since you're reading this, I'm either gone or I'm too sick to get to my computer.
I'd like to thank everyone for reading, especially the pillars who allowed me to quit working at that little car lot and turn my rage on the illegal Bush thugs full time.

But I have a favor to ask and it's a big one. I left Mrs Bart with a mortgage that she can't handle by herself.

When the doctors told me I wasn't going to reach old age, my first thoughts were worry about Mrs Bart and how she was going to make it without me and my income.

You know me, I'm a gambler to the end, so when Bartcop Manor flooded in 2004, I/we gambled that I'd live long enough to get the house paid off, or at least paid down to where she could see the end of the payments. Since you're reading this, it means I lost that gamble.

So I'm asking you this hueueuege favor - would you keep your subscription going?

I know it's a lot to ask, but the thought of her having to sell Casa de Bart for a loss and move into some smaller place is something too sad to think about.

If you're thinking it makes no sense to keep the subscription going, what if you kept it going long enough to read thru the back pages one more time?

I hope your last memory of me isn't one of "greedy bastard," but I've got this problem (or used to have :) that I don't know how to fix.

So if you can help her out, I'd appreciate it.

Thanks for the life you gave me,
bart

So, should we start our own dead dummie sub-forum over here?

I'm thinking of the potential to draw guest traffic.

It would be the only place they would get remembered.

That's what I'm worried about.  There are so many dead DUmmies dropping like flies, I think it's best that something be done, whether it's us here or at the hive, before they are forgotten.

No way. A dead DUmmy forum at the DUmp would be hilarious.

A dead DUmmy forum here would lead to allegations of a lack of compassion, upsetting the Sanctimony Squad.

It would also be an administrative nightmare.

The very first post would have to be a current list of dead DUmmies.

And what follows (in order) would have to be brief-ish chronologies of each DUmmie.

I think this is why $kimmer doesn't even bother to answer the request for a dead DUmmie forum. It would just be to much work.

But think of it; if the typical DUmmy knew that by assuming room temperature, s/h/it was guaranteed their own stickied thread on the wall of shame (as I shall henceforth refer to any such board established to memorialize hose who make their greatest contribution to society by leaving it, whether set up here or on Skin's Island of Misfit ****-ups) and thus be noticed by the normal men and women they dispise so much, I think we'd have DUmmies lined up around the 'Island to off themselves.

I fail to see the down side to this. (well, there is one: some poor, union garbage collector will have to dispose of the Proglodyte's carcass properly, but it's a small price (gallon of gas and a match, and make the EPA file their own damned environmental impact study.))

From a different thread where sage words from one of the leading lights of the online liberal community gives closure to mourning DUmmies.

It's Saturday evening, all is quiet, and I can't stop thinking about BartCop.

I don't have a lot of words for this. His passing hit me in the heart.

All these years of slogging, many of them with voices of the online Left considered irrelevant...until we got a little more notice, and then a little more, and somewhere along the way, we started to throw some weight.

BartCop was the real beginning of that, I believe. He was the pioneer. Every day, day after day. He published me 16 years ago, before anyone had ever heard of me (or had any reason to). A lot of the leading lights of the online liberal community can say the same, as well as the folks who sent him an email which he posted and highlighted. BartCop made me feel like I wasn't crazy, and gave me a megaphone I never would have had otherwise.

He helped me learn to think.

I missed the Beatles craze, but in some odd way, I feel tonight the way Beatles fans felt when they heard that John Lennon had died. Maybe that doesn't make sense, and I apologize if that ruffles any Boomer feathers...but this is what I do, and this is who I am, and BartCop was the first of us. We are because he was.

And he will always be.
