Today, Bob Kerrey and John Kerry are both socialist democrat swine.

The huge difference between them is that as a young man Bob Kerrey served his country honorably, while John Kerry has been a lying traitor his entire adult life.

Ya know what? I don't believe a damn word of that shit! He's doin' nothin' more than playin' to the base in order to get his BJ's on election day!

I call BullShit! Has anyone ever corroborated this tall tale, or is it like Kerry, who BTW served in Vietnam, and all a bunch of shit?

Kerrey was a no-shit SEAL Lieutenant. Lost part of one leg to a grenade, was awarded the Medal of Honor. After his wartime service and recovery, he owned restaurants and a health club in Lincoln.

He was a moderate Dem, and a rock-star governor. Debra Winger lived with him in the Governor's Mansion for awhile. The joke in Nebraska was, "How do you slow down Debra Winger? You put a governor on her!"

He made the big left turn after he was elected Senator.

This, from the newspaper today:

Quote
Things have changed since last Kerrey run

When Bob Kerrey last presented himself to Nebraska voters 18 years ago, he won re-election to the U.S. Senate with 55 percent of the vote — a neat trick for a Democrat in a Republican-dominated state.

With his announcement Wednesday that he's running for his old seat, he'll have to see if he still can work the ol' Kerrey magic. But things have changed.

Going into the 1994 election, Republican registrations in Nebraska outnumbered Democrats by 90,000. This year the difference is more than 180,000.

In fact, 48 percent of would-be Nebraska voters are registered as Republicans, 33 percent as Democrats and 19 percent independent or nonpartisan.

Even for a candidate with name recognition like Kerrey's, the path to victory in this Plains state will mean he has mountains to climb.....

I still don't see killin' innocents, even if you are a Seal Team member. Even if it was Nam. Just sounds exaggerated to me, sorry.

If I'm wrong, I'll be the first to apologize, but I've just seen too many of these pricks pander to the left in order to get votes. Hell look at the DUmp already! They're ready to jump on the band wagon already, and I'm sure some of it is because he turned his back on the military!

Like I said, when I can see some corroboration I will rescind my comments.

He'll fail.

Kerrey's been out of the state for nearly 2 decades, and his time at the New School hasn't endeared him to Nebraska voters.

I think  Bruning and Stenberg are both strong candidates, and your point about the R-D gap is an important one, frank.

My candidate's Deborah Fisher, a neighbor of dutch508's here.

But, obviously, any of the (R)s are fine with me.

I'm not familiar with Sen. Fisher, just read a little bit about her. She looks like a good fiscal conservative, and would represent Nebraska well.

Traditionally, eastern Nebraska has one U.S. Senator, and western Nebraska the other.

This, despite that 67-75% of all Nebraskans live in the southeastern corner of the state.

The current (R) Senator, Michael Johanns, is from Lincoln.

All the (R) candidates for Nelson's seat are from Lincoln.  And Kerrey of course is from Lincoln, even though usually he claims Omaha.  He's really from Lincoln, and not fooling anybody.

(Nelson is from McCook, hence he's the "western" senator.)

We won't.

As Airwolf has said so many times, it's a different Nebraska now, than way back in 1994, when the Democrats were riding high.

By the way, late afternoon when I checked the Bellevue site, I noticed the big guy's wife isn't on the list of candidates for the Board of Education there.  And today (Thursday) at 5:00 p.m. was the deadline.

One wonders what's up with that.

Tsk.  Progressive liberals like Fat Steve don't use submissive terms like "wife".  The appropriate possessive is  "partner".

Another perfectly good word ruined by liberals and faggots.

By the way, when one nadins "Steve Dawes," it automatically sets to "Steve Dawes Bellevue," and on that page, nine of the links are to here.  One wonders what's up with that, too.

It looks like Big Steve Dawes of Bellevue is really investing a lot towards the gentrification of Olde Town Bellevue.  I did an image search and it looks to be a fairly typical, small Midwestern town.  Not affluent, but certainly not in dire straights.  I spent my summers growing up in Sheldon, Illinois working on my uncles farm, it was the same kind of place.

Big Steve may think that he can turn Olde Town Bellevue into Riverwalk, San Antone, but unless he has some very serious backers, I have my doubts.

Here's a thread where the Weeper posts newspaper clippings on the Ward 1 election, with each candidate listed along with his platform.

DUmmy Omaha Steve agrees with everything the incumbent says. He's just agreeing with the competition. Really stupid.

He's telling voters to elect him and they'll get the incumbent's business-friendly policies, from a socialist left-wing radical who's sucking up tax dollars on  light duty at the sewer plant.

That's a sure loser.

He needs to highlight his lifelong support for socialism, require city contractors to be union only, outlaw possession of handguns, and invite Lincoln and Omaha occupoopers to Bellevue.

Democrats only lose when they are afraid to be liberal enough.

Steve Dawes needs to celebrate his socialism. Bellevue will love it.

He's been on the sick, lame and lazy list at the shithouse so long that they probably regard him as Legend.  The rest of the union poo-slingers still have to actually work every now and then.  He hasn't lifted a hand in years and he's sporting a framed Vic Morrow autograph, plus he is running for public office.  He is their inspiration. :cheersmate:

You know, I'm greatly disappointed the big guy isn't doing that.

He's speaking with a forked tongue, telling the primitives one thing, and telling the newspapers another thing.

Someone needs to set the record straight, what the big guy really thinks.

Steve "became a loyal fan of Bellevue East girls basketball team about 12 years ago...Having watched the team for so long, he and his wife about 5 years ago decided to move Bellevue". (sic)

Steve Dawes, dedicated Socialist, moved to another city to be closer to a high school girls' basketball team? A team he "became a loyal fan of", despite having no personal connection to the city, the school, or the team.

Creepy. Betcha Steve Dawes wears his special trenchcoat to the Bellevue East girls basketball games; the trenchcoat with the holes cut in the pockets.

That also explains the use of the word "spurt" in his article. That's a word you don't often see in a candidate's bio. It creates an odd juxtaposition:

Steve Dawes
girls basketball
spurt

Could that be one of those "dog whistles" the DUmmies like to talk about? I wonder which dog Steve Dawes, dedicated socialist and high school girls basketball fetishist, is trying to call. Perhaps he thinks Olde Town Bellevue is filled with sexual deviants, and he is courting their votes.

March 1 was the deadline for filing.

Seperated at birth??

Then-Chief Justice John Marshall observed, “Between a balanced republic and a democracy, the difference is like that between order and chaos.”

John Adams warned in a letter, “Remember democracy never lasts long. It soon wastes, exhausts, and murders itself. There never was a democracy yet, that did not commit suicide.”
