42. Threads like these are why postal workers cannot strike.
Were we allowed to strike, we could bring this entire nation to a complete economic standstill.

Which is, of course, precisely the reason why we are forbidden from doing so.

Oh, and for any kind of national strike to work you need a year and a good deal of publicity on major outlets- i.e., places which would stand to be seriously affected by the strike.

In other words- we'd all love to see it, but it just isn't going to happen. Or, coordinate 380+ million people without a coast-to-coast mode of distribution of the message.

I love this idea. I love it. But it cannot possibly work.

I'm glad that publik edukashun has worked so well, to produce such idiots like these.

Can someone please explain to me what the purpose these national strikes are supposed to serve?

I dunno.

But if there's to be a strike, I'd like to see the people who prepare Ms. Ed's paycheck on strike.

Uh, what?

Besides ebay sellers and LL Bean, who the hell uses the USPS as their primary source of delivery?   and sport if you strike today then the capitalist pigs at UPS, FedEx and DHL will collectively lick their chops while humming the tune of cha-ching.

This reminds me of that Seinfeld episode where Kramer realizes he doesn't need the postal service. A classic. I hope you don't get a visit from the postmaster general anytime soon!  :-)

What the DUmmies don't realize is that the USPS is the only means that the Military and their families who live overseas has of acquiring anything that is not AAFES.  Just about any company that will ship to an APO uses the USPS, and you'd be suprised at how many that is.

So yeah, go ahead and pull that shit.  You'll just be sticking another knife into the back of the military you claim to support. :whatever:

Can anyone imagine the shit-storm by the DUchebags that would happen if the government checks quit flowing?
When you are the beneficiary of someone’s kindness and generosity, it produces a sense of gratitude and community.

When you are the beneficiary of a policy that steals from someone and gives it to you in return for your vote, it produces a sense of entitlement and dependency.

The first domino in the deck would be employees of Cheetos factories worldwide, followed by Pepsi factories, then the local economy would be hit when the pot dealers would run ou tof customers.  And don't forget Big Pharma.

Not a pretty sight.

We'd probably have to entertain ourselves by debating ID vs. Evolution.  Or refighting the Civil War endlessly.

Maybe we can say that the Civil War was the result of Evolution.  That would be one hell of a thread.

"When you see that trading is done, not by consent, but by compulsion - when you see that in order to produce, you need to obtain permission from men who produce nothing - when you see that money is flowing to those who deal, not in goods, but in favors - when you see that men get richer by graft and by pull than by work, and your laws don't protect you against them, but protect them against you - when you see corruption being rewarded and honesty becoming a self-sacrifice - you may know that your society is doomed."
