Assuming this passes the Senate, which I sure as hell hope it doesn't, can't the Republican majority overturn this Nightmare Act in January?  At least two-thirds of the American people are against giving a free ride to illegals.  Bad enough we're forced to pay for their schooling through grade 12.

WTF is wrong with the "leadership" in DC?  WHY are the only nation on earth not "allowed" BY OUR OWN PULING GOVERNMENT to protect our borders?   :censored:

If it passed the senate, Teh Won would sign it, so there isn't much to do but hope it fails in the senate.

Yeah, I guess overriding a veto from Little Lord Zer0 is asking too much of some of the RINOs loitering around Congress doing the Dem's work.

I wonder if there isn't more to the thinking behind the dream act? Think of battalions full of illegals rumbling down the streets of America. Hey I'm just sayin. I don't know what is on these power hungry bastards minds anymore!
"Liberalism is an essentially feminine, submissive world view. Perhaps a better adjective than feminine is infantile. It is the world view of men who do not have the moral toughness, the spiritual strength to stand up and do single combat with life, who cannot adjust to the reality that the world is not a huge, pink-and-blue, padded nursery in which the lions lie down with the lambs and everyone lives happily ever after."

I keep thinking of the verse "comes like a thief in the night" every time the Pelosi / Reid Congress passes legislation.  Their rendezvous with destiny has just drawn a whole lot closer with the passage of this legislation.  The back lash cometh.  Americans waking up to this will not be pleased. The American voter may be a bit the slow to anger but they are not stupid, they did not vote for this nor will they stand for it.

I doubt it will go anywhere in the Senate..With that being said..

The 'Lame Duck' period needs to be ended, by moving the elections to the beginning of the year. November 2nd made sense when it would take weeks to move a newly elected person to Washington from across the country, but no longer. Now the lame duck sessions have become a period of vengeance voting.

I didn't think that Obama care would pass the Senate either.  But it did.

They need 60 votes for this to pass the Senate.  They don't have them.

New members of Congress really need that long to get their office staff hired and set up, go through orientation, etc.

Aren't certain committee appointments also made during this time period?

I heard as well that the 60 votes aren't there.  We shall see.  What would make this slightly more palatable would be to remove the college and require the military service.  College is just party time, anymore.  With the plethora of majors to choose from, like surfing the Internets, making clay pots, and pondering ones navel, college can mask nothing but fun, fun times, full of boozy irresponsibility.

I tend to agree with Miskie on the lame duck.  This time period is too long.  How much orientation is really needed?  Here's the bathroom.  Staff?  Staff positions were likely decided long ago.  If you don't know who your right hand men are going to be, you're not smart enough for the job.

So which one "conquers" our country first? Sharia law or illegal immigrants (30 million+ new democrap voters)? With the help of our wonderful masters (not representatives anymore), the benevolent imperial federal govt. of course ...

While I detest the RINOs who voted in favor for this nightmare, I have less respect for the ****ing cowards who refused to take a stand and vote for it.  We send these bastards to D.C. for a reason.  To represent us and take a stand on the issues.  The traitors who voted to pass this clearly do not represent the American people and the limp dicks who opted out failed to fill their job responsibilities.  Let's not forget this group in 2012.

Congress should not be allowed to do anything at all during the "lame duck" time with the exception of declaring war if necessary.
