'Un-American' attacks can't derail health care debate
« on: August 10, 2009, 04:11:26 AM »
When I'm called "un-American" by two people who opposed President Bush's wars to keep us safe, I wear it as a badge of honor.

'Un-American' attacks can't derail health care debate
By Nancy Pelosi and Steny Hoyer

Americans have been waiting for nearly a century for quality, affordable health care.

Health coverage for all was on the national agenda as early as 1912, thanks to Teddy Roosevelt's Bull Moose presidential run. Months after World War II came to an end in 1945, President Harry Truman called on Congress to guarantee all Americans the "right to adequate medical care and protection from the economic fears of sickness." From President Lyndon Johnson to President Bill Clinton, to President Obama's winning campaign on the promise of reform, there hasn't been a more debated domestic issue than the promise of affordable health care for all.

We believe it is healthy for such a historic effort to be subject to so much scrutiny and debate. The failure of past attempts is a reminder that health insurance reform is a defining moment in our nation's history — it is well worth the time it takes to get it right. We are confident that we will get this right.

Already, three House committees have passed this critical legislation and over August, the two of us will work closely with those three committees to produce one strong piece of legislation that the House will approve in September.

In the meantime, as members of Congress spend time at home during August, they are talking with their constituents about reform. The dialogue between elected representatives and constituents is at the heart of our democracy and plays an integral role in assuring that the legislation we write reflects the genuine needs and concerns of the people we represent.

They really want to be the minority party in the House for the rest of their lives, don't they?

The rest of this claptrap is here:

I usually met them for lunch every Thursday, a few of them always sat a table over from us and pretended not to know us. This is how we kept track of each other. We knew we couldn't say much out loud or meet each other too often without raising suspicions. We traded information as most of us also "had lunch" on other days with other people. This is how things were learned, spread by casual contact in pizza, sandwich or coffee shops. We learn that so-and-so has been arrested and we tell the others at out next lunch date who might not know otherwise.

We are the underground, you see?

There are millions of us all over the country. Many of us are being monitored since its not like they care to keep it a secret. We know our neighbors are watching and listening for a slip-up to turn us in to the authorities. Many of us already have family and friends in the camps, we are in no hurry to join them. We have all heard the stories, I wince when I think about it. Thank God I'm not female, its so much worse for them. It's scarier for those with kids, they know their kids will tell their teachers about everything they might say that is negative against the government.

They can not even sleep peacefully in their own beds without the worry they might talk in their sleep. That someone might tell. That there might be a knock on the door in the night or even a door that gets broken in by their goons.

We always go but we never really participate in the community meetings. Of course we know they're nothing more than local enforcers for the authorities, keeping out their eyes and ears for any sign of disloyalty. We go because not going would raise suspicions. We take our recycling to the community center, we buy the pamphlets and books that they sell and we display them on our shelves next to the image of the leader. Members of the Underground must be above suspicion as much as possible. Members of the Underground must stay invisible until the time came to not be invisible.

We are the Underground, you see?

When we stand in line for an hour to buy a loaf of bread with our money and ration card, we know better than to complain. That man is a member of the Party, the woman by the door is an agent of the Secretariat. There is a man somewhere nearby who works for the Interior Security Agency and there is always a member of the Nation-Corps somewhere nearby, a paid bully, all of them paid to oppress. They always get the freshest foods, they always get extra rolls of toilet paper for their loyalty to the regime was unquestionable. We all knew we could say nothing when told there was no more coffee but we can see several cans behind the clerk. Those were reserved. For the most loyal among us. We do not question "equality for all" for we know it is a lie. We simply bide our time and wait.

We are the Underground, you see.

Both of them are from the most Liberal, socialistic districts we have. They will both probably float freely into re- election, and swear it shows a mandate from the people. I can only hope that the witch loses the house next year.

It is the rumors that drag one down, no one knows what to believe.

I looked out the window one morning and saw my friends son get on the public school bus.
That was a surprise, as long as I have know the family their son had been going to special classes for the mentally challenged.

I left the house to speak to his mother and that woman was white as a sheet, seems the rumor going about was that the government was building facilities way out in the boon docks to educate the children away from home, they felt the parents were not capable of or having  the ability to turn the children into productive citizens.

This was just one of hundreds of parents that were trying to enroll their children into public school system. They knew that it would be but a few days before that knock on their door came and they had to pack their child's bags as their kids could not handle public school.

Its just a silly rumor I told her but she fled into her house in tears.   Darn these rumors were getting dangerous.

They became deadly those rumors for me when my mom had a heart attack and fell in her kitchen.  Seems someone started a rumor that mom at 80 years of age had managed to get a corneal transplant in both eyes.   When the government people came to question her about unauthorised medical care for seniors--she collapsed on the spot.

At least that was what I was told as I never got to see or bury her properly, just a box of ashes.

Rumors, just rumors.

I have seen those TV ads the government has aimed at teenagers, I cannot believe they would go this far but teens are given $1,000.00 and all kinds of video games  for participating in the  American Hero Club.  They as back up troupers for America become spy's and for each person that they hear or see doing anything  UN American they are rewarded.  Fun, every night after school they spend an hour or so learning how to be a spy, what to listen for, and who to suspect--Sort of like angry Boy Scouts.

These kids are select children, both parents have to have been born in America, they wear these very fancy uniforms and get preferential treatment, comped in restaurants, movies and theme parks.

So far we have nothing like that in our state but the rumor is, it wont be long.

Rumors, people please stop listening to these far fetched rumors, as long as you do or say nothing wrong you have nothing to fear.   This is America, we are free, we have the Constitution behind us.

The rumors about our new president are so outrageous no one but an idiot would believe them.  This has to be a racial thing as he is descended from parents that didn't survive the Japanese camps in California 60 some years ago.  He is just a bit odd but he would never harm America, his family came here 9 generations ago and we did some years give the survivors a few thousand bucks each to make up for the internment of American citizens.

Rumors, just rumors, try to ignore them, those rumors have nothing to do with you or me.

Liberalism Is The Philosophy Of The Stupid

The libs/dems of today are the Quislings of former years.  The cowards who would vote a fraud into office in exchange for handouts from the devil.
