You will not believe what my in laws did before dinner.

They made everyone stand in a circle and hold hands, then mil said the prayer. After that as the circle was breaking up, loud whistles interrupted and someone yelled stay in the circle. They then started saying the pledge of allegiance. Oh did I fail to mention the theme was Red, White, and Blue?

Let the Christmas Bouncies roll! Or bounce, if you like.

Personally I WANT to believe that this actually happened. Why? Just to piss off the these idiots. Thats why.

Don't know if this is a a real story or just a parody of what libs think happen in religious homes. I've probably been to 8 different family Christmas dinners (half in my own immediate or extended family) in my lifetime, and the only praying of any sort was at my Grandparents' where my Aunt Geraldine was always asked to lead in prayer. And if she weren't there, there would have been no prayer at all.

I've probably been to 8 different family Christmas dinners (half in my own immediate or extended family) in my lifetime, and the only praying of any sort was at my Grandparents' where my Aunt Geraldine was always asked to lead in prayer.    My father would usually ask me to say Grace.  Miss that now that he's gone.

At the inlaws, or extended family, large gatherings, usually there is a prayer. But that can sometimes depend on turnout. 

But I certainly dont recall any hand holding, and pledge of the allegiance. Maybe I missed that part.

As I mentioned, I imagine this is a DUmmy fantasy of what they THINK happens in millions of Christian households.

The strangest religious experience I had was attending my first Jewish wedding. My future ex-wife was in the wedding party, and I walked into the service with other gentiles and we were handed yarmulkes. We didn't know and I still don't know if it was respectful or disrespectful to wear it or not wear it. So I put it in my suit pocket where it remained until the next time I wore that suit 6 months late.
