Omaha Steve
A supporter of one of my opponents in Ward I questioned my MUD math!
Anyone can check my math. Here is the new info: http://stevedawes2012.com/
More news on the way.

Yay more news on the way. :whatever:

Inasmuch as Steve lurks here, I wonder if he knows his DUmmy buddies are buying shoes made elsewhere, places other than the USA, and bragging about the cost.
I also wonder if those shoes are made by union workers.
What about it, Steve? http://www.democraticunderground.com/1002655621
Had to come back to add this. Much information about the Ward 1 campaign here http://www.electstevedawes.com/
-
I wonder what size shoes Steve wears. Bigfoot triple F for fat ?

Steve. I don't believe you.
I do not believe that you spoke to a any voter, because I don't believe you are campaigning.
I think you are just trying to draw attention to your website.
I'm betting many more people are familiar with my favorite site

Socialist Steve Dawes, ward 1, Bellevue, Nebraska...is trolling for site hits.
We all know the most popular and truthful site is... www.electstevedawes.com

In less than a week his campaign will be over. The crying in the beer posts will be priceless.

Who's the only politician running for office more desperate for a vote than Obama?

To reply to his MUD math, how much would it cost the community to buy the infrastructure of the gas company that he would like to take over by eminent domain? If the existing municipal gas service operates at essentially a break even point, it would have to figure out a way to pay for what government is going to take. No IOU's accepted. Money has to come from somewhere, a bond? Then the rate payers have to pay the bond back. That is a cost above the cost of gas.

Nearly 12 hours after the original, there is finally a response, but he had to type it himself.

1. My house would have saved right at the average of $144 My level payment plan was $60 a month. I would have saved $12 a month or $144 for the year.
More news to follow.

In Nebraska, the public utility district would have to issue bonds to buy the real-estate and equipment (pipes, substations, whatnot), charging both the principal and interest to the utility users.
And so all the utility users in the Metropolitan Utilities District, which covers all of Omaha and bits-and-pieces of surrounding areas, would have to pay increased rates to cover that.
The big guy admitted as much, but damn it, I can't find his quote (he was quoted here).
Seriously, the big guy is looking for a free ride from somewhere, anywhere.
If not on the disability gravy-train, then the Bellevue City Council.
If not on the Bellevue City Council, then on the lesser-known (and hence more easy for him to get elected) MUD board, where he dreams of sitting in an office all day, as people come in to pay him off, as if Bellevue were Boston or Chicago or Seattle.
The big guy is looking for a free ride, somewhere. Anywhere will do.
And he'll keep looking until he's old and bald.
The big guy would do better if he were just to humbly and diligently go about his work for eight to ten more years, as the 401K and pension plans accrue, assuring him a comfortable retirement.
But no, he wants it now.

Therein lies another problem.
If the big guy were paying $60 all year long, for all costs (heating, water-heater, stove), or $720, that's not a big deal.
I imagine people in blue states pay a Hell of a lot more.
High natural gas prices aren't an issue in Bellevue.
High gasoline prices on the other hand are.

The muslim's still a 59% favorite to win on Intrade.
Ward 1 Bellevue isn't listed, but my guess is that Socialist Steve is way down in the tiny single figures.

Steve is working harder at getting a no work job, than he would if he worked a work job.
I swear, the big guy's whole autobiography involves looking for a free ride.
Somewhere, just so it's a free ride through life.
I'm surprised he hasn't yet walked out in front of a speeding automobile, so he can sue for a lifetime award.
Since all else has failed, I assume that after May 15, he'll start looking around for a free ride somehow else.

That's true of every liberal that I have ever known. They will spend 10 minutes trying to get out of a 5 minute job.

Uh huh.
Usually, if not all the time, what's free costs more than what costs.
I don't understand the big guy; at his age, he's only 8 or 10 years away from retirement, with a cushy pension from the taxpayers of Omaha, and of course social security.
Eight to ten years isn't that long to wait.
If he'd just be diligent and humble about doing his job, forgetting any fantastical dreams of becoming a political powerhouse, concentrating on being a good grandfather, kissing Marta every Friday, and paying his bills, before the turn of this decade, the big guy'll be in clover.

I doubt the Fat One is even listed. Don't ya have to have a certain amount of votes tom even get recognized?
He might do better if he publicizes http://www.electstevedawes.com/
Wonder why he doesn't? It sure as hell couldn't hurt. Hell, maybe there's more socialsts in Nebraska than we think. Heh!

Romney was in Omaha today, and probably drove right by the waterworks alongside the river there.
One wonders if the big guy showed up in a Peter Pan costume to be photographed with him.

I heard Steve Dawes showed up in his Peter Pan costume, but the Secret Service turned him away. Something about "Peter Pan didn't have a neckbeard", or "Peter Pan didn't wear a stuffed codpiece", or "Peter Pan didn't smell like other people's poop". Reports varied.

Now, I've never been inside a sewer plant, so I don't know what I'm talking about here.
I imagine it looks and smells cleaner on the inside than it does from the outside, at a distance.
I've always "pictured" the big guy sitting in a small room with meters and gauges on the walls, and levers and buttons on his desk, watching them to be sure something doesn't blow. And of course while sitting there, hanging around with the primitives on Skins's island.
I dunno, but that's the way I "picture" it.

I've been in a few of them, because we do appraisals on them for municipalities whose land they're on (if we're there, it's not the same muni that built them). There's a couple of places that an "operator" can be along the way. I've been in one for the NYC Board of Water, in the Catskills, that the entire plant is inside the same building--it's a big building, but it's built in a valley, and it's difficult to see form the NYS route that's nearby. If everything is running properly, an operator could become bored . . . and hang with the primitives on Skins' Isle, I would guess.

To elaborate further--I wish I knew what I was talking about; I wish someone here had worked in such a place before--I "picture" the Omaha waterworks, outgoing section, to be a whole lot of great big boilers, maybe partially underground, where the raw sewage is cooked, or boiled, so as to remove possible contaminants before it's released into the Missouri River.
And the big guy's job is to keep watching the temperatures inside those boilers, to be sure one doesn't blow.
Anyone's free to correct me here.

I have a vote magnet that pulls votes from liberals to and delivers them to e-vile Rethuglicans. Usually I only set it for about 5% at the most but I'm upping it to 94.3% in OS's case. Just for fun.

A few more days, and we can watch a gravy-train wreck.
Will Chief Bawling Buffalo, the wonder-weeper of Omaha, cry on the 16th, 17th, or 18th?
Self avowed socialist Steve Dawes is in for a rude awakening.
Who will he blame for his catastrophic loss?

Well, I know what can be blamed.
The very first day the big guy announced his candidacy on Skins's island, franksolich stepped forward to volunteer his services as the big guy's campaign manager.
Did the big guy pay any heed to franksolich?
N-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o.
The big guy would be happier than a pig wallowing in wet mud, if he'd listened.

Us? He's got to blame someone--he certainly can't man up and take responsibility, or something like that. :whistling: O-)

Well, I see this morning there's an article in the Omaha World-Herald about the city council races in Bellevue. But I couldn't see if the big guy was quoted in the story.
The rich greedy Democrat Warren Buffett bought the Omaha World-Herald a few months ago, and apparently decided to charge we 99% for the news.

Thanks, but just listing the big guy's name as one of the candidates, and nothing else, is hardly a "mention."
