MSNBC is reporting that the shooter in the Monterrey Park mass shooting
had a weapon that shoots 1,000 bullets a minute what the **** does a civilian need a ****ing gun like that for?

But full auto pistols can shoot that fast. I think full auto Glocks can hit 1200 rounds per minute. Someone else may know more.

No they can't.
The Glock 18 is very rare, and even if this guy had one, you still only have a limited number of rounds in any mag. You would have to change magazines 66 times in one minute to fire 1200 rounds... or once every .96 seconds...

A mini gun is 6,000 rounds a minute. The mg42 and uk59 can do close to 1,000 a minute..

Having moled my share over there, I can confirm that the level of stupidity over there is actually underestimated by a significant factor, particularly on the topic of guns.
On any topic, 99.9 percent of them know little beyond their own hatred. On guns, that is magnified and amplified significantly.
This is to be expected by people that can't wrap what passes for their tiny little brains around 4 basic words: Shall Not Be Infringed. Beyond that, they hate guns, not because they've been personally touched in some way by them, but because they represent the power to say NO to them and mean it. That, they just can not abide. I suspect that the average DUer wasn't ever held accountable as a child, or told No. The average DUer is what a child such as that looks and acts like, grown up.

1,000 rounds would be a BIG magazine or a VERY LONG belt. From what I read (quck Google) a 9 yard belt will hold 300 rounds so it would be 27 (closer to 30) YARDS, meaning 100 feet or so.
