Yet none of those are the reason that certain parts of our government want it banned.

They want it banned because unlike facebook and the like, it is beyond their control.

Actually they wanted the ban because there's a tiny little clause in the legislation that says they can do it to any other website that "raises similar concerns".

It was no more than allowing the camel's nose in under the tent wall.

I'm torn.  TikTok is at least collecting and feeding tons of data directly to the Chicoms, including things like location data and images from government employee phones, including when they are in secure locations with said phones that have the app installed.  At worst it's a Chicom psyop, dumbing down Americans (especially da youts) and spreading misinformation.  However, banning apps is not easy, and it's very debatable if the feds have the Constitutional power to even try.

However, Fed employees, especially military, should absolutely be banned from having the app on any official device, and can probably be told to leave their personal devices with the app at home, away from any government building/worksite/ect.

Should Congress be focusing more on other things?  Yes they should.  Is this app an issue that needs to be looked at?  Yes it is, again, particularly on government devices and in government facilities.

Yet none of those are the reason that certain parts of our government want it banned.

They want it banned because unlike facebook and the like, it is beyond their control.

It is simply fodder for low information people to glance at while they're stuck in a line at the checkout.

All that evil and criminality sure aged hillary.

Jewish students, come here to the South — where you’ll be safe

Jewish students in the Ivy League, I’m here to offer an invitation: Come to the South, where you’ll be safe.

It’s manifestly not safe to be an Ivy League Jew. A prominent Columbia rabbi “strongly” advised Jewish students to go home and not come back: It’s become clear “Columbia University’s Public Safety and the NYPD cannot guarantee Jewish students’ safety in the face of extreme antisemitism and anarchy,” Rabbi Elie Buechler told students this week over WhatsApp.
...
My advice to Jewish students at these institutions: Come on down. At schools like mine, the University of Tennessee, in red states, such intimidation, harassment and lawlessness aren’t tolerated.

In my city of Knoxville, after Hamas’ Oct. 7 rape/torture/murder/kidnapping spree, we had a pro-Israel rally attended by all our major civic leaders. The allegedly elite schools had marches in support of Hamas.

In the red states, support for Israel isn’t controversial. In our allegedly elite northeastern and California universities it can get you mobbed.

OMG, how I'd love to post this on DU!

What has Tommy Carcetti's knickers knotted? Did he flunk a breathalyzer or drug test?

All the cities that are having these problems have one thing in common. They are all run by Democrats. The very same kinds of people that are causing the riots and protest. It's the same now and it was the same way back in the 60's and further back than that, I doubt that many have been started by conservatives here in the US.

The National Enquirer? The same paper that featured Bat Boy and Aliens made me pregnant paper? The Dummies are getting so desperate nowadays

The thing to understand about the National Enquirer is that whatever help it may have given Trump doesn't begin to rival what other media outlets do to help democrats, explicitly, implicitly, "subliminally", or by whatever method you care to name.

The thing to understand about the National Enquirer...
…is you didn’t have to buy it to read it. you can steal it

You didn’t even have to consider buying it to read it. you just put your hand on the cover and absorb it

All you had to do was stand in the grocery store checkout aisle and there it was, with pictures and big headlines promising huge exclusive stories.

So even if you were just standing there, the chances it might subliminally affect you are notable. only if you are a low IQ dummy who’s brainwashed and can only listen to the party lines.

Hillary Clinton, a crook?  most definitely and a liar.

Hillary Clinton, deathly ill? we should be so lucky

Donald Trump, the victim of a set up? most definitely, the left is deathly afraid he will get elected again and spoil their plans to destroy America  :thatsright:
