oh BEG honey you'll do fine. I know how you feel though!

My dad had it done about 5 years ago and my brother was the one who took him. He said he did great and had no complications.

You will have to find a way to let us know you're out and okay as soon as possible.

I will say a prayer in the morning.

No, my friends, there’s only one really progressive idea. And that is the idea of legally limiting the power of the government. That one genuinely liberal, genuinely progressive idea — the Why in 1776, the How in 1787 — is what needs to be conserved. We need to conserve that fundamentally liberal idea. That is why we are conservatives. --Bill Whittle

You will be fine. I will be thinking about you, in a positive way, the whole day. As, I am sure, everyone else here will be.

Count on our prayers, BEG.
Let nothing trouble you,
Let nothing frighten you.
All things are passing;
God never changes.
Patience attains all that it strives for.
He who has God lacks nothing:
God alone suffices.

BEG, if I were you I would be scared too.  I know I would.  But, since I am not you, and not having surgery tomorrow, I will simply say that I know you will be fine and you will be in my thoughts and prayers tomorrow.

And here is an ooky rainbow hug for you to make it all better.

You'll be okay.  Really.

You'll be fine.  It's just like going to the dentist.

I'm actually more nervous about the outcome vs the procedure. The rate that things go bad doubles in someone with a history is UVeitis. I will be getting a shot in the eye during the procedure to try to prevent it but I'm still seriously nervous.

Oh and wineslob, I think I know why your mom has a sparkly eye. They can put a special coating on the lens that blocks UV light, that tends to make it sparkle in certain light.

I forgot about that.  I'm not familiar with UVeitis and didn't realize it was that bad.. :(

I will not be having surgery again.  I can't do it.  There is so much scar tissue that cutting into any part of my retina could cause the whole shebang to fall apart.  I can't risk it.

It's over and I was awake for the whole friggen thing and it did hurt. The anesthesiologist gave me some Versed and it didn't feel like he gave me anything. I was getting ready to ask for more when my doctor said it was over.

First the doctor put numbing drops in my eye (along with a bunch of other drops). He strapped me to a table (actually just taped my head down, I couldn't move it). Ithe lights were so bright I couldn't keep my eye open. Then he put that thing that keeps your eye open and it hurt. It almost felt like it was too big. He made his first incision then stuck a needle inside my eye to numb my iris. That part wasn't too bad. I kept getting really hot so they took all the blankets off me and turned down the A/C.

Then he inserted larger instruments to dissolve the cataract (ultrasound) then sucked it out. I think that part freaked me out the most. I could actually see him installing the new lense, it was freaky. After that was done he gave me two injections of steroids which have now produced two lovely bubble blobs on my eye.

At first I saw red out of that eye, then I could see that the colors looks different in my right vs left (white had a tint to it). my vision is blurry in that eye but my doctor said it would be, especially with the steroid injection.

Incase anyone wants to know the lense is:

I didn't see this yesterday, but am relieved to hear you're doing okay.  Everyone I've ever known who's had the surgery has done well.  Thing is that none of them had the problems you do with your eyes.

Take it easy.  Don't expect too much of yourself.  You're going to heal just fine and you've got a lot of prayers holding you up.

Just now saw this, and was wondering why you were showing up as being on here, only to find out it's already over with!!!  :o

Sorry, darlin', but couldn't read the details of the surgery, got queasy after the first paragraph, (eye stuff gives me a panic attack). So glad to hear it went ok.

Sending prayers and lots of hugs!!!!
