Whaddya mean who’s he? He’s the man standing on the piano belting out rock on his sax in this vide o.

He was there with the birth of rock’n’roll playing in Houston until the big guys found him and moved him on up. He fronted for Little Richard and was on a multitude of records.


BTW - note the only non-white faces in the room are on stage and every last one of them is black.

When they go, they go in groups. Hilton Valentine’s guitar rift leads off this first entry into The Animals time in the sun. No word on the cause of death. He was 78.

Mary Wilson was an R&B singer who was a founding member of the Supremes.

She was 76.
