Release denied for Manson follower
« on: July 15, 2008, 06:10:50 PM »

Quote
SACRAMENTO -- A follower of Charles Manson who is dying of brain cancer has been denied release from a California prison.
The state parole board on Tuesday denied a request for the compassionate release of Susan Atkins. She stabbed actress Sharon Tate to death nearly 40 years ago.
Her doctors and prison officials made the request in March because of her deteriorating health. Her attorney and husband says the 60-year-old Atkins also has had her left leg amputated and is partially paralyzed.
He says doctors have given her three months to live. Atkins did not attend Tuesday's hearing.

Good!  Let her die, miserable and alone.  That is a small retribution for the painful murder of Sharon Tate and her unborn child.

And then she can stand before God.

Nice to see a life sentence mean EXACTLY THAT for the time being, at least.

Good!!!!!! She's not only a cold blooder murderer, she's a calculating psychopath who has tried to manipulate the prison system.

No, my friends, there’s only one really progressive idea. And that is the idea of legally limiting the power of the government. That one genuinely liberal, genuinely progressive idea — the Why in 1776, the How in 1787 — is what needs to be conserved. We need to conserve that fundamentally liberal idea. That is why we are conservatives. --Bill Whittle

Let her draw her last breath behind a prison wall.  Her victims haven't drawn a breath in almost 39 years.  One of her victims never got to draw a breath at all.

May her life stay livid and vivid until the last second of her wasted life.

Then I pray for God's mercy upon her.

The defendants were sentenced to death, but their terms were commuted to life sentences when the U.S. Supreme Court temporarily ruled the death penalty unconstitutional.

first of all, she has already been shown more compassion than she showed sharon tate.  and life without parole requires that you die in prison, however painfully that death may arrive.

^exactly. Not only that but Atkins has done quite a lot with her time behind bars.

I read this and got sick to my stomach. You can't cut and paste so you'll have to read the link. Nothing graphic, just disgusting how she's worked the system since her incarceration.

I know. I ended up just scrolling and skimming. I wanted to know about her prison time specifically. I can't believe all of the priviledges she's been given. *eyeroll*

Man that is poorly written.  It was had to follow.

It is like it was written by different people.  The first ten paragraphs are fine (for what they are), but thereafter, it reads like a transcript of an incoherent witness testimony.
