Title: O Blames Businesses for Unemployment

THE PRESIDENT: Good morning, everybody. Before departing for Asia this morning, I'd like to make a brief statement about the economy.

Over the past 10 months, we've taken a number of bold steps to break the back of this recession. We've worked to stabilize the financial system, revive lending to small businesses and families, and prevent responsible homeowners from losing their homes. And through the Recovery Act, we've cut taxes for middle class families, extended and increased unemployment insurance, and created and saved more than a million jobs.

As a result, the economy is now growing again for the first time in more than a year -- and faster than at any time in the past two years. But even though we've slowed the loss of jobs -- and today's report on the continued decline in unemployment claims is a hopeful sign -- the economic growth that we've seen has not yet led to the job growth that we desperately need. As I've said from the start of this crisis, hiring often takes time to catch up to economic growth. And given the magnitude of the economic turmoil that we've experienced, employers are reluctant to hire.

Small businesses and large firms are demanding more of their employees, their increasing their hours, and adding temporary workers -- but these companies have not yet been willing to take the steps necessary to hire again. Meanwhile, millions of Americans -- our friends, our neighbors, our family members -- are desperately searching for jobs.

He has done everything. Now he'll host a forum to consider how to force businessess to obey his demands.

This effing moron is ignoring the 500 pound gorilla in the room.  No company is willing to expand or hire new people because of the huge cloud of uncertainty that is hanging over them.

Dimrats are still talking about raising taxes. There are the obligations and taxes built into the house insurance reform bill which will affect almost every business, regardless of size. Now there is talk about raising FICA and FICAII  payments to the government.  Hell, it's no wonder no company is wanting to hire.

Of course we will soon be seeing a slight hiring boost due to the Christmas season, but I suspect that number will be far fewer thna in past years.

Businesses look out for their own self-interest, period.  The economic outlook in this country is uncertain, and businesses have been forced to cut down to bare bones in order to survive.  You think they're going to just magically start hiring again because your jug-eared self got on TV and made a few asinine comments?  Think again idiot.

Now, about those asinine comments.

1.  The financial system is not stabilized.  It's more uncertain now than it's ever been.  IIRC, when IndyMac went bust, it was discovered that the value of their assets (e.g. mortgage loans) was overstated by nearly 40%.  In fact, no bank has actually been forced to mark-to-market, period.  Instead, you've (and I include Bernanke in that) thrown gobs of cash and credit at the problem, only to have it used to paper over the toxic debt that still effing exists,  leading us to...

2.  Credit is not flowing because no one knows what the hell is going on.  Are you going to fire any more CEOs?  Is another economy-killing stimulus about to be rammed up our asses?  Planning on retroactively taxing any bonuses at 90%?  Are you gonna demonize any other industries for whatever agenda you have in mind now?  Gonna force any other secured debt holders to screw themselves over?  Are you going to stoke inflation or allow deflationary pressures to run their course?  Anyone lending right now needs their head examined.

3.  Stop saying you've created or saved anything, and stop acting like the unemployment rate increasing less-rapidly is a sign of economic recovery.  It insults just about everyone's intelligence, except know-nothing DUmmies.  You can insult them all you like, however, they're masochists.

To conclude, Mr. President, just back the hell off.  Get your grubby hands out of the financial and credit industries.  Just stop.  Government intrusion into the free market is the source of every economic woe you can put your finger on.  It takes a special kind of stupid to think more government intrusion is thus the answer.  See there?  I even called you special!
