Its only a matter of time before they turn on him. Why do you think they never bothered Reagan? he was not beholden by them.

The government cannot give to anybody anything that the government does not first take from somebody else. When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work because the other half is going to take care of them, and when the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work because somebody else is going to get what they work for, that my dear friend, is about the end of any nation. Another group of disappointed Libtards who actually thought they'd be on the "extra special" guest list at the White House because they covered for Obama during the election.

Yep.  The MSM got used just like the rest of the libs.  What's worse is that he'll toss 'em a bone every once in a while and they'll thank him for it.   :whatever:

The White House press operation got off to a fumbling and stumbling start Thursday, with the day's opening briefers insisting on being identified only as "senior administration officials," followed swiftly by the new president's spokesman accidently outing one of the secret aides less than two minutes into his first White House briefing.

Although President Obama swept into office pledging transparency and a new air of openness, the press hammered spokesman Robert Gibbs for nearly an hour over a slate of perceived secretive slights that have piled up quickly for the new administration. It wasn't pretty.

"Why did the administration believe it was important for the American people not to know the name of the two senior administration officials who briefed us this morning on Guantanamo?" one reporter asked in the packed and steaming hot briefing room just off the White House West Wing.

..."Do you know," the reporter followed, "that you've used ... one of those senior officials' first names several times in this briefing?" A very long pause ensued.

"I do," the spokesman said, his cornflower-colored tie suddenly looking a bit too tight. "Are we allowed to repeat that name?" Mr. Gibbs answered by citing as precedent of Brazilian soccer stars being known only by a single name - sure to one day be a classic White House non-answer.

Then it got uglier.

...
what a shambles

I can't get over the screen cap at Drudge of him putting his hand on a reporter like that.

Less Than A Week In, And Already, The Arrogance Of Power Manifests Itself

Posted by Pejman Yousefzadeh (Profile)

Let’s play our favorite game: What do you think the popular reaction would be if President George W. Bush tried to stare down a reporter and intimidate him out of asking a tough question, had his Administration stiff-arm the media concerning the coverage of important events–thus undermining transparency, and had his press office bungle a key off-the-record briefing?

I think it is safe to say there would be a fair amount of outrage. Now, to be sure, there appears to be at least some outrage among the chattering classes given the fact that tous ces faux pas have been committed by the Obama Administration. But there hasn’t been nearly the amount of derision, sneering, contempt and incandescent fury that would have existed if all of this occurred during the previous Administration’s watch.

At the end of the day, the media are nothing but jackals. They may actually work in our favor.  :evillaugh:

Any takers on how long Gibbs lasts?  :-)

No, my friends, there’s only one really progressive idea. And that is the idea of legally limiting the power of the government. That one genuinely liberal, genuinely progressive idea — the Why in 1776, the How in 1787 — is what needs to be conserved. We need to conserve that fundamentally liberal idea. That is why we are conservatives. --Bill Whittle

I was just thinking of this the other day.  With all the pressure Bush was under I was aware of how the press secy' position and how that probably has to be one of the hardest positions in the administration.  I can't even begin to imagine the pressure of dealing with the press on a regular basis.

Clearly no one can handle the press like O and he is beginning to crack already.  His press secy is going to probably go over the edge in no time.  It will be interesting to see how long each one lasts.  Because honestly I think he is going to go through a lot.
Tact is for people who aren't witty enough to be sarcastic.

Sometimes I aim to please, but mostly I just shoot to kill.
