Anyone know of a good, simple email encryption scheme?
One that doesn't cause an undue burden, and that can be easily shared with friends and family?

I guess the only way to keep it simple would be to have a single bit of software that everyone uses. Most of us do not want to deal with things like "Oh, Dad used MyPGP so I'll have to crank that up to decipher his email to me" or "Drat, Mom used YourRSA to encrypt her email, now I'll have to download and configure it in order to read her email".

It's hard to make it easy and transparent for the average user if there is not a single standard. But if I were an investing sort, I'd be looking at firms that do encryption programs for email communications, also for phone messages. Not just for business (they already do extensive encryption and vpn), but for individuals. Because my guess is that there will be a groundswell of interest in such things, in the USA and elsewhere.

Even the NSA has limitations on what it can decrypt.

26. do you really think they care what's in your email?

How childish!

Silly question. The DUmmy is a member of the DUmp so the feds do have a keen interest.

Come to think of it, unions do create jobs. Companies have to hire two workers to do the work of one.

They're union, it's fine.  Letter writing is toooo much work for the DUmmies, though.  Plus, you have to sit and consider another person, not just yourself.  Nope, too hard.

Even better is the invisible ink you can make from the waste products of pressing castor oil, DUmmies.  Do be aware though, that if you wear latex gloves when you prepare or use it, it deactivates the invisibility property, and everybody can see what you wrote.

Then-Chief Justice John Marshall observed, “Between a balanced republic and a democracy, the difference is like that between order and chaos.”

John Adams warned in a letter, “Remember democracy never lasts long. It soon wastes, exhausts, and murders itself. There never was a democracy yet, that did not commit suicide.”

Hey preezy big ears told us they don't read the emails or listen to the phone calls, what's to worry about?
When you are the beneficiary of someone’s kindness and generosity, it produces a sense of gratitude and community.

When you are the beneficiary of a policy that steals from someone and gives it to you in return for your vote, it produces a sense of entitlement and dependency.

AFAIK, encryption routines were classed as Auxiliary Military Technology, and later changed to another status by Bubba Clinton via executive order.- The change in status made it easier for software developers to import and export their products, before that any strong encryption couldn't be moved to and from the USA without breaking the same laws that prevent weapon trafficking.

With that being said, The Government can and still does demand access to engines when a strong encryption scheme is developed as part of licencing requirements.

Regardless, the bottom line remains the same. If The USA cant decipher it, its not legal to use within the borders of the United States.

So, the short answer is 'no' - Too bad, primitives.
