There's been an uproar at the DUmp today over a routine proclamation from the jug-eared muslim's White House, recognizing Loyalty Day.
DUmmies cannot believe there was a time when nearly all Americans, Republican and Democrat, felt a sense of patriotism.
The DUmmies, of course, see Loyalty Day as a slap at their communist may day celebration, which was indeed its intent.

Massive DU History Fail.....the CONGRESS passed "Loyalty Day' in 1958.
36 USC § 115 - Loyalty Day
(a) Designation.— May 1 is Loyalty Day.
(b) Purpose.— Loyalty Day is a special day for the reaffirmation of loyalty to the United States and for the recognition of the heritage of American freedom.
(c) Proclamation.— The President is requested to issue a proclamation—
(1)calling on United States Government officials to display the flag of the United States on all Government buildings on Loyalty Day; and
(2)inviting the people of the United States to observe Loyalty Day with appropriate ceremonies in schools and other suitable places.
Since 1960, there have been over 50 proclamations of "Loyalty Day"--including by Presidents Kennedy, Carter, Clinton, and now President Obama. But it was really fun to read the two separate freak-out threads on this utter non-issue, blaming President Obama.

6. What's the controversy then? I missed all but the proclamation. Standard stuff.

9. Ahem....The current President did what every other Democratic President did, and is being blamed for
it.
There's two threads in GD where the posters are handwringing over what Mr. Obama did. But not what any other Democratic President did.
I, too, wonder why.

Background
Loyalty Day was first observed in 1921 as "Americanization Day" to counterbalance Labour Day on May Day (May 1), celebrated in other parts of the world. On May 1, 1930, about 10,000 Veterans of Foreign War members staged a rally at New York's Union Square to promote patriotism. Through a resolution adopted in 1949, May 1 evolved into Loyalty Day. Observances began on April 28, 1950, and climaxed on May 1 when more than five million people across the nation held rallies. In New York City, more than 100,000 people rallied for America.

Incredible as it sounds, the shithole of the East Coast used to be inhabited by normal Americans.

17. They are upset there wasn't a proclamation for International Workers' Day
But since it has never be a recognized US holiday, they will just have to wait until a Marxist gets elected, and a Congress that would pass it.
Being a little snarky with the above, but really now, the unrealistic and over-the-top bs that flows here is embarrassing.

30. Well, Democrats campaign a bit like Marxists
They do so love to embrace the working classes on the campaign trail
But once in office...
