The Irony of the current 2nd Amendment debate as I see it.
The 2nd Amendment isn't about the right to own guns to shoot targets or hunt or go on a rampage...It's about the rights of the citizens to arm themselves in order to protect themselves from an oppressive government. A government who would deny their citizens of their rights. But the people who are most fearful of losing their 2nd Amendment rights are the very same people who actually try deny other citizens rights based on gender, religion, sexual orientation, class, race, affiliations....
If we ever did need to put the 2nd Amendment to use...it would be when/if the the Tea Party and NRA take control of our government.

The Tea Party and the NRA members would never make it past the US army, hell they probably wouldn't make past the police. They are cowards and the second someone starts shooting back they will shit their pants and run for the hills.
Um, yeah, the military has more in common with the TEA Party and NRA than they do with the left.

7. If you want new gun control laws, arm minorities.
A good portion of the people backing an absolutist position on the 2nd amendment would change their toon if those guns were legally being wielded by African-Americans and Latinos.
Wrong. It was a black man that sued the city of Chicago and won. He was supported by the NRA. In fact, if more law abiding citizens were allowed to own guns in liberal hellholes, then crime might go down.

That was carrying loaded guns in public. Gun control in the US was designed to keep freed slaves from owning guns. In the south. Where the Democrats were in control. Democrats are racists assholes still to this day.

Gun control has a long history of racism. The south did their damnedest to try and keep blacks from arming themselves.
Exactly what I said above. Gun rights advocates do not want laws allowing whites only to own guns.

When you buy a gun there is not a disqualification based on what race you are. But I bet you know that.
Look where the strictest gun control laws are. Every single one is DemonRat controlled with large populations of blacks. That proves that gun control is race based.

Just like the other amendments. We have compromised time and time again but every time a new tragedy happens you ask for more because at the end of the day you don't want people armed. At some point you're asking for things that take you so far away from the amendment's original intention that you make it all but useless. So we've decided to take a "no more" stance regarding the issue. I think we can do more to prevent tragedies such as linking mental health records to the instant check done for gun purchases but I'm not willing to accept further restrictions on the tools these psychos use. Simple as that.
