Maybe they thought he was a rich person so they were just doing the eat the rich thing.

From the picture it looks like a fairly nice car, shouldn't you want us to take the car from him?

I live in the land of eco-moonbat-fascist. Smart cars, the Pious, and Volts (I've seen four different ones), this is what I drive and laugh at the little shiny metal boxes. The good part is this car is way more eco-freindly than anything new, much less with a battery as the prime mover.

First year of the 472/375HP. No catalytic converter and can still get 15 around town (unless I put my foot into it, which I do) and 22 on the highway at 70MPH. This land yacht weighs about the same as those Asian boxes, 3800 lbs.

I don't understand all the hate here for small cars, if people want out of the gene pool you might as well let them.

IMO the problem with things like the smart is not necessary their size, but the fact they're so damn ugly.

I've owned large trucks and tiny cars and I'm quite happy with the size of car I'm at now.

And you've got to give them credit, at least they didn't freak out and hit someone else, this very thing was a very serious problem a few years ago. Kids were chucking them at any and every car. It's still a problem with overpasses in the winter, one guy got killed when a large icicle fell and went through his windshield.

I had a 73 Olds 98 w/ a 455 & 375 HP. I got 10-12MPG around town (mainly because my foot was in the secondaries a LOT. What the hell, I was 19-21 at the time). When the speed limits were 55, I got 18-19 MPG on the highway. Now that I know as much about Olds engines as I do, I could easily get 22 MPG on the highway (which I did with a Olds Cutlass Wagon w/ a 350 in it).

There were some kids up in Minneapolis area doing the same thing years back. One driver was seriously injured or killed, I forget which now. Of course, Minneapolis is one of the areas that helped vote in Keith Ellison & Stuart Smalley....

It's been going on in western PA for years, actually probably decades.  There have been fatalities.  It usually makes the news when it happens and it most frequently happens on I-70.  I haven't seen any stories like this in the news recently.  If it didn't actually happen to the OP maybe it's one of those "ripped from the headlines" stories.  :-)

What kids have done around here, and still do is take a piece of a spark plug ceramic and either toss it off an overpass or tie it to a thread and let it dangle. AFAIK nobody has been caught yet, as there is never any witnesses because the ceramic is so small it can be flicked like a booger at passing cars.

Nearly every year there are stories about how 'my windshield just exploded' and nobody saw anything.

You think that's hideous?  Have you seen the Nissan Juke?  It would have been appropriate to name it the Puke.  There were a lot of designers high on something when they created that hot mess.

Seem 'em.  The local Nissan dealer has 3 of them on the lot.

What the hell is with that driver's side rear window?  It wraps around from the rear corner to halfway across the rear hatch.

I buried my two cats that the BASTARDs killed about 10 feet from where I park my Jeep. It doesn't have 38" tires, but it is four-wheel drive though.

And people make fun of me for driving a jetta?

I drove a PT Cruiser for a while, the insurance company gave me one in December when I needed a car. I can't say I liked it.

I used to drive a Jetta.  Then I got an old Jeep Cherokee.  Loved that Jeep--my wife didn't, especially the repair bills.
