Conservative Cave is now monitoring the C&B thread
I'm kind of stunned that they have so little to do as to ridicule recipes. I've seen Warpy, and several others absolutely torn apart by people with nothing better to do than tear apart people personally when they post recipes for food
Not attempting to tear apart the nation, but to share RECIPES.

1. They are a group of losers.
And their sole purpose (I believe) is to tear us down.
Response to CaliforniaPeggy (Reply #1)No, DUmmy Aerows, you posted a warning about the price of eggs going up due to a drought, since thirsty chickens might lay fewer eggs. No running water on egg farms, apparently.

2. I must be famous
I advocated for chickens to drink more water since that would cause global warming (what?). I admit, I went there, but it was such convoluted bullcrap I couldn't keep track. On thing I'm sure of. Aerows is a lesbian. (I am) She weighs two hundred pounds and is ugly (I weigh 110 as a blond and can disprove that with a single photograph).

8. Yeah I know they tend to make things up as they go.
I'm supposedly a little old lady who lives in Arkansas.
Seriously....I'd just ignore them. As long as you don't post personal, traceable, info here, they can't really hurt you. They have been trash talking C&B for a long time. Sorta sad actually.

10. It's been going on a looooong time.
From what I saw in the past, some were really nice, but others like to pretend that we post elitist recipes

Every few months, I do a search on my username. I'm not the subject of much discussion among those pusillanimous pisswillies ordinarily, but they found one thread that I started in this group over a year ago worthy of a great deal of discussion.

18. Your last sentence sums up my feelings a lot.
It's especially true in my case. I can be very "conservative" on some issues, and extremely "liberal" on others. I can find common ground with just about anyone, unless they just constantly mean spirited.
And I am way more hippie-esque than I probably come across. So you and I balance each other out Hippy-wise!

Serious question: Some folks waste their time attacking members of a cooking and baking forum
where they exchange recipes, discuss ingredients.
Now if you find yourself manly or womanly after running down members of a group.
Sharing recipes because you think they aren't ... holy, manly, womanly or godly enough, I think you need to sit down and have a conversation with your therapist.
When you ridicule folks exchanging recipes based upon whether you agree with their politics, you have lost all grasp on politics and need to re-evaluate your approach to life. Cooking you a pancake isn't Democratic or Republican. It's that somebody gave a damn to do it.

I read it was lurkers from the Conservative Cave. Their top subject is writing about DU - so sad, they need to get a life.

58. conservative cave used to be unmentionable on DU
It's a site filled with misfits who troll DU and like to make trouble when they can. They even were involved in an incident that may have accelerated the death of one of our DU heroes, Andy Stephenson (a voting rights warrior). They interfered with a fundraising effort and the paypal funds were tied up and treatment was delayed. That is the most egregious of their known escapades. They have interfered in the lives of DU-ers where they could, and have driven some of our members off including our much-loved C&B member, Hippywife. If you really want to know more, it's all on the Internet.
No one here drove DUmmy hippywife away.

82. no, it doesn't happen here in the cooking group.
They lurk in the cooking group and then mostly these days just make asses of themselves on their own site, conservativecave.com. Although they HAVE occasionally crossed over to real life involvement (got a DU-er fired from her job for her comments on DU). They boast of having trolls and moles here. But there really is no discord in cooking and baking group.
We're not here to tear you down.
We're here to laugh at you. ...and most heartily, I might add.
They seem to think that we were involved in wallduding cali as well...
They have interfered in the lives of DU-ers where they could
Hmmm....like when you idiots interfered with my life a couple times?
Things were significantly better over there when they weren't allowed to mention us - they could happily get on with their lives of spreading lies and hate around.
No one here drove DUmmy hippywife away. There are strong suspicions that she was dismembered and eaten by her husband, Wild Bill Packer, who is known to have been a cannibal.
He covers for her disappearance by marketing tacky, tasteless costume jewelry in her name from an Etsy shop.
If you don't want Cavers to mock you, don't post ridiculous things on DU. Even Calpeg has learned that every poem she posts ends up 'improved' and added to miskie's big book of poetry.
They seem to think that we were involved in wallduding cali as well...
Poor sweating, crying OS didn't get a single mention as a victim of the evile Coach and his minions.
WTF? I love the cooking and baking group, if anything it's a nice diversion from politics.
But inevitably there is politics in it.
I've never understood something, and no primitive's ever illuminated me.
The primitives allege themselves to be morally superior to we decent and civilized people because they "care;" in this particular case they ostensibly care about the millions who go to sleep every night hungry.
But then the primitives turn around and constantly brag about their wasteful consumption of food.
And the primitives don't even seem to feel the least guilty about it.
No matter how much I play with the cerebral cells, I can't make this make sense.

29. OMG--someone just sent me the thread where they got all in a tizzy about baccala....
It's based on this thread....
http://www.democraticunderground.com/115714403
Some CC poster thinks baccala is a modern Italian-American invention--that it's not a dish from Italy itself. Oh shit, I cannot believe the stupid. No seriously....I cannot believe the level of stupid on that thread.
Did no one teach these people history? Salt cod has been a trade item for a thousand years....it was a staple on sailing vessels. The Vikings, the Basques, the Hanseatic League, and the British--all salt cod traders. Italians have been eating salt cod for a millennium.
Five seconds on google....
http://www.nytimes.com/books/first/k/kurlansky-cod.html
And apparently, we are too liberal with our tuna-making ways. That's another sad, sad thread.
msanthrope (17,620 posts) Sun Jul 28, 2013, 05:14 PM
32. After being schooled on baccala by me, the poster in question now claims he isn't an expert on "Italianate cuisine."
Okay. When I stop laughing at that, maybe I'll write a post about a hick who doesn't know the difference between architecture and food. Which isn't surprising, since it sounds like shit-on-a-shingle is a delicacy for that one.
Creamed chipped (dried) beef on toast.
Yeah, I just googled it.
But figuring google won't take dirty words, I just googled "on a shingle," and that's what I got.
I remember once seeing chipped beef on toast close up, when I was seven or eight years old.
Ever since then, whenever I see it, I try to stay at least half the room away from it; some memories are uneraseable.
Kind of a delicacy here in PA, along with scrapple. Were you out here when you saw it?

Why do we have so many cooking and baking primitives visiting this thread, when there's more interesting material for them on the thread by Dennis the Menace, about how to make some sort of quinine salad?
Because they are crybabies.

It gets tiresome, having to guide the primitives around, as if they can't find things on their own.
The DUmpster on conservativecave's the largest known repository of primitivity on the internet--geezuz, what, 433,000+ comments here alone?--and I have a feeling even the most-thorough primitive (that would be the addled "grasswire" primitive) hasn't ever seen even a hundredth of one percent of it all.
The Army used to be real big on SOS as a hot meal breakfast item, at least in years gone by.
