The Irony of the current 2nd Amendment debate as I see it.
The 2nd Amendment isn't about the right to own guns to shoot targets or hunt or go on a rampage...It's about the rights of the citizens to arm themselves in order to protect themselves from an oppressive government. A government who would deny their citizens of their rights. But the people who are most fearful of losing their 2nd Amendment rights are the very same people who actually try deny other citizens rights based on gender, religion, sexual orientation, class, race, affiliations....
If we ever did need to put the 2nd Amendment to use...it would be when/if the the Tea Party and NRA take control of our government.

The Tea Party and the NRA members would never make it past the US army, hell they probably wouldn't make past the police. They are cowards and the second someone starts shooting back they will shit their pants and run for the hills.

Wrong. It was a black man that sued the city of Chicago and won. He was supported by the NRA. In fact, if more law abiding citizens were allowed to own guns in liberal hellholes, then crime might go down.

Just like the other amendments. We have compromised time and time again but every time a new tragedy happens you ask for more because at the end of the day you don't want people armed. At some point you're asking for things that take you so far away from the amendment's original intention that you make it all but useless. So we've decided to take a "no more" stance regarding the issue. I think we can do more to prevent tragedies such as linking mental health records to the instant check done for gun purchases but I'm not willing to accept further restrictions on the tools these psychos use. Simple as that.

Back in he 1950's when blacks had to work for a living, they had guns but chose to fight or cut one another with razors. Then the democrats took pity on them and gave them welfare checks and foodstamps so they didn't have work. That made them lazy..... so lazy that they quit fighting and cutting each other and just let their fingers do the killing.

The point is that those liberal havens have strict gun control laws, and it's the criminals that have guns. Maybe, just maybe if the DemonRats in charge weren't so racist and allowed minorities to have guns and the right to protect themselves, then crime might not be so bad in those areas.

What does this mean ? I cant seem to find any indication that race plays a role in legally obtaining firearms- So what does this poster want, that all minorities are entitled to firearms, regardless of background check ?
When does a minority become eligible for their firearm ? At birth ? Will one be able to buy "My First Glock" by Fisher-Price for their minority child ?
