CNN senior producer John Griffin was arrested on Friday by the FBI after being charged with shocking sex crimes with girls as young as seven years old and an unsealed document provides vulgar details to the alleged crimes that could result in life in prison. The CNN veteran was charged by a grand jury in Vermont "with three counts of using a facility of interstate commerce to attempt to entice minors to engage in unlawful sexual activity." Griffin is currently in custody and his arraignment in Vermont is scheduled for Wednesday at 11 a.m ET.Griffin, a senior producer for CNN's long-struggling morning program "New Day," was taken into custody following a federal indictment accusing him of coercing parents to allow their minor daughters to engage in sexual activity in his home.
CNN suspended Griffin, who worked with former CNN star Chris Cuomo, a "New Day" anchor from its inception in 2013 until he launched his primetime show in 2018. Griffin’s LinkedIn page, which has not been updated since the network fired the former "Cuomo Prime Time" namesake, declares he works "shoulder-to-shoulder with lead anchor Chris Cuomo, seeing him through each show and producing live breaking news across the country and around the world."
New disturbing details have emerged from a Nevada criminal complaint, including a 9-year-old being pimped out to CNN producer John Griffin.Authorities also became aware of Griffin's depraved activities almost two years ago, but the FBI didn't arrest him until Friday.Griffin had allegedly solicited three mothers and their underage daughters for fetish sex training.The third count in the federal indictment is based on an encounter with the 9-year-old in July 2020, where $3,500 was paid by Griffin.
A second ex-CNN producer is under criminal investigation over allegations involving "potential juvenile victims."Fairfax County (Va.) Police Department confirmed to Fox News Digital a criminal investigation has been launched "into serious allegations involving potential juvenile victims" and that "detectives assigned to the Child Exploitation Squad of the Major Crimes Bureau are leading this investigation" into Rick Saleeby, a former senior producer for Jake Tapper's "The Lead." "While we will eventually be transparent about our findings, safeguarding the personal privacy and safety of victims and witnesses as well as maintaining the integrity of our criminal investigation are of paramount importance," a spokesman for Fairfax County Police said in a statement.
Former CNN producer John Griffin, who was fired last month amidst allegations of child sex trafficking, has been named in a Connecticut civil lawsuit that alleges Griffin engaged in "horrific sexual abuse, sexual exploitation, and sexual assault" of the underage plaintiff."For several years prior to 2020, the defendant solicited young girls, including the minor plaintiff, for the purpose of knowingly persuading, inducing, enticing and coercing them to engage in sexual activity, sexual exploitation, and/or sexual trafficking," the lawsuit, obtained by Fox News, alleges.The lawsuit was filed in Bridgeport, Connecticut last week on behalf of a 9-year-old "Jane Doe" and custodial "next best friend" Janet Doe. It seeks up to $15 million in damages and fees.Griffin was fired from his producer position at CNN last month after it was revealed that he had lured underaged girls to "engage in unlawful sexual activity."
