DUers are celebrating Cantor's loss for one reason

The civil war in the ReTHUG party is finally front and center.

This is a political earthquake by any calculation and it is worthy of celebration.

I'm waiting for the next Hillary v Warren thread on DU.

Joe Scum is trying hard to avoid that bloodbath to come but this will be fun to watch

This next tool was pressing mightily for Zimmerman = RACE WAR! angle:

18. yeah sure, funny

but after they are finished with each other, all free thinking people, no matter the ethnicity, race or religious preference, NOT interested in their form of government would be next to 'fall under their knives'. Not a pleasant thought of history repeating itself.

11. We will get more constant drumming from the msm that the tea party is powerful

It will move repubs to the right and thus dems. They all seem to fear the tea party. Repubs wanting to get elected dems wanting to compromise.

That's what has been going on since the tea party started. I don't see why this would be different.

I wish I could be happy about cantor's loss.

Quote
TBF (24,559 posts)

15. The tea party is not "powerful" -

democrats sent Cantor packing (Virginia has open primaries).

If dems pose as republicans they have to continue the façade or expose themselves as duplicitous cheaters.

Continuing the façade does nothing to undermine the message of the Tea Party is a viable.

So, please, by all means. Run out and scream, "It was us!"

For the record: Virginia's 7th CD is R+10

Quote
TBF (24,559 posts)

14. Dems are finally playing to win -

they all voted in droves in the primary (against Cantor) to get him the hell out. They won't be voting for the teabaggerati in November. Virginia has open primaries by law. We'll see if repugs try to change the law after this.

It's nice to see dems finally get hard-core and fight. You have to against repugs because they will lie, cheat and steal to get what they want.

The Proglodyte claims the dems posed as republicans but the republicans are liars.

26. Are the same people celebrating

pretending that the Democrats don't have their own civil war?

While I get a visceral tug of pleasure from Cantor's defeat, I don't know that it's necessarily good news in the bigger picture. Giving the tea party a bigger voice helps...how?

Quote

39. The difference is....

Their civil war is between their right wing and their extreme right wing. It plays out with their right wing continually making overtures and concessions to the extreme right wing.

Our civil war is between our center right wing, and everyone to the left of center. It plays out with our center right wing continually making overturnes and concessions to.......the Republican party.

Big difference.

Quote
LWolf (38,917 posts)

42. I think they are connected.

I think it's our "center right" wing that would cheer the Republican civil war, which can drive more republicans into their own center-right sphere, making the Democratic Party more and more Republican-like.

44. Very good point.

I didn't think about that. Ugh. Thanks for bumming me out so early on in the day.

I hope the radicals totally take over the stinking husk that's left of the republican party.

Let them put their hateful, un-american views and perverted heretic dominionist religion [wha-a-a-a?!?  --Sgt SB] on display so no spin from Fox "news" will be able to stop the average citizen from realizing the complete horror of the teatalibans fever dreams/nightmare plans for America!

I eagerly await the total collapse and death of the damned republican party!

Bank on it.
“The national budget must be balanced. The public debt must be reduced; the arrogance of the authorities must be moderated and controlled. Payments to foreign governments must be reduced, if the nation doesn't want to go bankrupt. People must again learn to work, instead of living on public assistance.”

That seat's going Dem in 24 business hours, DUmmie hosers.

You dopes -- and a lot of the press -- are missing the point that just because the TEA Partiers choose to back someone, that does not make the candidate a 'TEA Party candidate.'  Brat seems like a guy with a broad economic message, and the academic chops to back it up, not just the one-dimensional 'TEAhadist' you, the press, and a bunch of Beltway-centric RINOs want it to be.

Just hope the guy isn't another unelectable nut.

Last time around, the tea party gave three Senate seats to the democrats by swarming the primaries.

Anyway, a single House seat isn't so important.

Their surprise come November will be a delight to behold.

I can't wait to hear the Prog's wail and moan as Brat, McDaniel and Joe Carr (running against Lamar Alexander) all get sworn in come January 2015.

But the Libtards should worry too much...they'll still have the support of Mitch McConnell, Goober Graham and Capt. Queeg.

This.  The MainstreamMarxists were all over that last night, even after Brat himself denied it.  He wasn't a Tea Party candidate.  He was supported by Tea Party voters, not some (D)Marxist Operation Chaos, and a lot of (R)s that are simply fed up.  His policy views are relatively close to Tea Party views.

Why, sure.  According to quite a few of the petulant children, Emperor Telewoobie is a (R)epublican, they are center-Right and MSLSD has more right leaning commentators than left.   :o

Brat was completely ignored by the regular Tea party groups.  They sent no money, they didn't even send out emails to their lists.  I heard his message last night, and I liked what I heard.  Nothing nutty about it, GOBUCKS.  Free markets, that's all.

Its is truly amazing how delusional they can be? Or are they just mentally disturbed.
"Liberalism is an essentially feminine, submissive world view. Perhaps a better adjective than feminine is infantile. It is the world view of men who do not have the moral toughness, the spiritual strength to stand up and do single combat with life, who cannot adjust to the reality that the world is not a huge, pink-and-blue, padded nursery in which the lions lie down with the lambs and everyone lives happily ever after."

One wonders if the primitives have noticed a difference between "class" and "trash."

Eric Cantor (R), upon losing his primary, resigned his leadership post, to let someone else try to do something with it.

Bela Pelosi (D), upon losing Democrat control of the House, mostly because of her, selfishly insisted upon retaining her post.

That's the difference between "class" and "trash," primitives.
