I looked into that, but I didn't see the connection, could you explain ?
Why, certainly. As lefties "get smarterer," they lose common sense quickly, and way out of proportion to what's replacing it.
The Gilboa Dam reference was an allusion to the fact that the National Weather Service told the New York City Department of Environmental Protection, which operates the Gilboa Dam (the reservoir that it is containing is the northernmost in the NYC Water System) that Irene would rain hard enough to cause an overtopping of the dam by 1.4 feet . . . until an hour before the storm hit. Then, they upgraded that estimate of overtopping the Gilboa Dam to
eight feet. That is a whole metric shitload of water. The NYC DEP was near the end of Phase One of their project to renovate the Gilboa Dam--$18 million into a project of $500 million total. Irene did $13 million of damage to that $18 million Phase. There's equipment of the contractors that DEP was using, that hasn't yet been found. There's houses, cars, fuel tanks, and the like, in that reservoir that God only knows when they'll be found and recovered.
The idea is this: It's a whole lot of common sense that comes out of lefties' minds, as the knowledge trickles in.
