I made my daughter's favorite home made soup taking it to her tom but she probably won't care

about 10 new potatos boiled, skinned and chunked

one package of diced ham

one package of frozen peas

for the base:

8 tablespoons of flour
8 tablespoons of butter

melt butter and add the flour and blend well

4 cups of milk

stir constantly until creamy and the base starts to thicken

add the ham potatos and peas...

mix well

enjoy

YUMMMMMMMMMYYYYYYYYY

2. It does sound incredibly yummy, but . . .

you're taking it to her tom? Her male cat?

She isn't getting much in the way of replies or sympathy.  :lmao:

I'd guess "Tom" is some stupid cutesy way of saying "Tomorrow."  Have to say the soup sounds pretty blah.

Yep. Drunk as a skunk.
That mean drunk she's married to will probably kick her ass when he gets home and finds her swilling his hooch.

No salt and pepper in the soup?

Damn, that would make it pretty bad.

If I were the daughter, I wouldn't take it.

In case this were to happen, just wanted to point out your daughter still wouldn't care.  And why should she?  Just look at yourself.

That soup sounds DISGUSTING.  Gobucks, you are so funny.  Swilling his hooch.   :cheersmate:

I tend to agree. I think it's a residual revulsion from the grade school cafeteria. It seemed like the vegetable there was always rubbery peas, or a little wad of slimy spinach, which some kids would soak with vinegar (in those days there were condiments on the cafeteria tables) and wolf down like it was chocolate pudding. It was sickening - the food and the kids. But I recently had frozen sugar snap peas in a steamer bag. You just toss the bag in the microwave. They are excellent!

She dosen't even know she's making a roux?

Ditto...but a pea soup is meant to be simmered, spiced appropriately, and finessed to its final state. This recipe certainly sounds a little bland and hurried. A can of a good quality pea soup would probably taste a whole lot better.

Pea-haters aside, there just doesn't seem to be anything disgusting in it, but at the same time no salt, spice, fats/oils to speak of, or really much of any flavor at all.

DUmmy greenbriar is nowhere to be found today. Not a single post. I could understand it if she had been bragging about another expensive cruise starting today, to remind the other DUmmies that they will never in their miserable lives have such an experience. But she hasn't. She would have posted some kind of melodramatic lie today if she were physically able.

Yesterday, she made several posts in an obvious state of extreme drunkenness. Her writing was exactly the way a sloppy, obnoxious drunk talks. She would surely have been back to work this evening posting lies if the problem were as simple as a severe hangover. I think her loving husband, whom she has described as an evil, violent drunk, a vicious alcoholic skinhead, may have something to do with it. Even though she described in detail how she put him to bed with a smile on his face last week, the effect of that revolting encounter has long since worn off. He came home last night, from whatever shady business he uses to make cruise money, with a fierce, consuming thirst for gin only to find a couple of empty bottles and a disgusting, sloppy, fatass DUmmy. His normal reaction, according to DUmmy greenbriar's earlier posts, would have been to beat the living hell out of her. We can only stay tuned.

:lmao: That sounds like an entirely plausible situation.

Frau Grünbriar has the next two months to stew at home by herself until the state lets her lose on more innocent kids for another year.  God knows what will happen between now and September.

Ham, peas, and taters.  Sounds brilliant.

I've had some simple, basic soups that have come out excellent.  Leeks, potatoes, mushrooms, and butter is one that came out very well.  'taters, ham, and cheese doesn't sound like much... I'm thinking "pepper" is a major spice in the Grünbriar household.
