New College of California Is on Deathbed
 Source: InsideHigherEd.com

(snip)
Circumstances at New College of California have deteriorated to the point that it isn’t operating.
Those faculty members still hanging on – who have not been paid since early November and whose health benefits recently lapsed without notice – are, while still holding out hope for salvation, trying to put together plans to “teach out” the current crop of students and potentially find a home for some of the progressive college’s unique programs at other institutions....

By fall, enrollment had dropped 41 percent. The progressive, quirky San Francisco College, with degrees in activism and social change and women’s spirituality in addition to law and teacher education, considered declaring bankruptcy.

I can't imagine why  parents aren't eagerly digging deep to fund their children to obtain such useful qualifications.  :-)

4. Progressives have a huge problem doing fund raising
And when they do do it, other Progressives get all hot and bothered and start complaining. Even here at DU, threads start up all the time complaining that the DU site does fund raising through pledge drives and ad revenue.

Bah!

I can see November 2 from my house!!!

No, my friends, there’s only one really progressive idea. And that is the idea of legally limiting the power of the government. That one genuinely liberal, genuinely progressive idea — the Why in 1776, the How in 1787 — is what needs to be conserved. We need to conserve that fundamentally liberal idea. That is why we are conservatives. --Bill Whittle

I'll bet this place is a riot on "recruitment days".....I can imagine employers falling all over themselves to hire all of those folks with degrees in "activism", and "social change".

And these idiots wonder why they end up flipping burgers......

2. Like Anitoch lots of bad choices were made
and I will surely hear about this one from my Repub relatives. They count these as WINS.

How could it be construed as anything else?  Liberalism is always a miserable failure.   Think about all the lives that ridiculous school has or could ruin.  Those phonyass worthless degrees are a negative.  They represent uneducation.  It's absurd.  "Social change"?  sheesh!  What the hell does that even mean???

It does kind of fall short of even conveying the basic level of cultural literacy that goes along with "BA in General Studies," doesn't it?

Frankly, I think they'd all be better off taking an anger management class.

Why these fools keep on thinking people would even want to fund the perpetuation of liberalism is funny in and of itself, since history proves them wrong.

This is why instead, they have to blend in, in colleges. And yet still with that, they still haven't figured out yet that coming out with a degree in just about anything liberal will not grant one a lucrative career.
