So we have roughly 4,226 confirmed cases of COVID-19 reported right now with 75 deaths since January 21st of this year.
President Trump closed off travel from China almost immediately and has already declared a national emergency. All of this in less than 2 months. The reason I'm posting this is because I'm tired of reading the DUmmies whining about how poorly Trump is handling this. Keeping this information in mind, let's look at 2009 when Obama was president;
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2009_flu_pandemic_in_the_United_StatesThe 2009 flu pandemic in the United States was a novel strain of the Influenza A/H1N1 virus, commonly referred to as "swine flu", that began in the spring of 2009. The virus had spread to the US from an outbreak in Mexico.[116]
As of mid-March 2010, the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) estimated that about 59 million Americans contracted the H1N1 virus, 265,000 were hospitalized as a result (0.4% of the estimated total number of people who contracted it), and 12,000 died (0.02%).[117][118]
The earliest reported cases in the US began appearing in late March 2009, in California,[119][120] then spread to infect people in Texas, New York, and assorted other states by mid-April.
On April 22, the CDC first activated its Emergency Operations Center (EOC). On April 25, the World Health Organization (WHO) declared a public health emergency of international concern. On April 26, a public health emergency was declared in the United States, renewed twice in July and then October before being upgraded to a national emergency.[121]
So it took Obama roughly 5 months to get to where Trump is right now on declaring a national emergency ...
The disease then spread across the country's population and by the end of May had infected citizens in all 50 states. The pattern continued through June of the same year. The total number of confirmed cases varied from 27,717 (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) confirmed and probable cases) and 25,453 (total of all state confirmed cases) as of June 26, 2009.[122]
Towards the middle of June 2009, the number of US cases surpassed those of Mexico, which had been the previous leader in diagnosed cases of the disease. Toward the end of June 2009, the number of deaths related to the virus in the US surpassed those of all other countries as well.
Here it says that in 3 months we had 27,000 confirmed cases. In 3 MONTHS. We have 4,200 right now after 3 months with Trump in office because of some of the things his administration has been doing.
Note something here DUmmies; by June we had surpassed Mexico's cases WHERE WE GOT IT FROM, and our deaths surpassed ALL OTHER COUNTRIES! Please show me your posts from 2009 decrying the job Obama was doing and WHY the H1N1 should have been blamed on him. All of that in 3 months.
On June 25, the CDC released information revealing that there were more than likely over one million (1,000,000) cases of the disease in the US, most of which had not been reported or diagnosed.
Wonder why that was ...
Deaths relating to this new strain of influenza began appearing in the US in late April, and by early June, 15 states had reported fatalities related to or directly occurring from the virus. These deaths totaled at 4,000 as of November 15, 2009.
In 6 months there were 4,000 deaths all while Obama did ... what, exactly? So if there aren't 4,000 deaths in the US in another 3 months, you can thank Trump.
On April 26, 2009, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services declared Swine Flu a public health emergency.[127] On October 24, 2009, President Barack Obama declared Swine Flu a national emergency in the United States.
He was warned in April ... he didn't declare a national emergency until October. What's up with that? Was he golfing?
On January 15, 2010, the CDC released new estimate figures for swine flu, saying it has sickened about 55 million Americans and killed about 11,160 from April through mid-December.[130] On February 12, 2010, the CDC released updated estimate figures for swine flu, reporting that, in total, 57 million Americans had been sickened, 257,000 had been hospitalised and 11,690 people had died (including 1,180 children) due to swine flu from April through to mid-January.
Again, you'll note that above there were 4,000 deaths by November then you see the total to December which is over 11,000. An additional 7,000 people died in about a month. Also note, almost 1,200 children died. Where was your Obama?
I hope some DUmmie comes over to explain to me why Obama's response was better than what Trump is doing. Just one of them. Either that or I want them to show me the links to the threads where they were trashing Obama like they're trashing Trump!
Put up or shut up, DUmmies! LOL Y'all claim to love facts, here's a whole string of them for you.
