The fact is that many straight couples engage in anal sex, and many supposedly straight men engage in anal sex with other men, and all those people are at as high or higher risk than a monogamous gay couple, particularly if said gay couple doesn't even engage in anal sex (gasp! I know it's hard to imagine, but some gay people don't have butt sex).

Yardwork needs to be educated. It's not the type of sex that spreads AIDS, it's the partners involved. Hetero couples that are monogamous have zero chance of getting AIDS no matter how they enjoy themselves. Homos OTOH, have been known to be notoriously UNmonogamous, and that causes the major problem.

58. i figured as much. problem is... ANYONE can have AIDS. so therefore
   no one should be able to give blood. A 36 year old married mother of 2.4 kids is as likely to contract the disease as anyone else. Though, i know that I do not have a high probability because i do not do drugs, i do not have sex outside my marriage and i haven't ever had a transfusion. but that doesn't mean it isn't possible. it isn't any more possible for a gay person than for anyone else. period. instead of being hysterical about it, the same history they ask everyone else should be applied to a gay donor and take it from there.

Ya know...For a group of people who claim to know so much about homosexuals they are pretty clueless. Gay men are some of the horniest bastards around{To be expected because they are still men and most men are oversexed to begin with} I know gay men who will have mulitiple partners in an evening let alone a week or a month or a year. The reason they don't want homosexual blood is because homosexual men are very premiscuous. I remember in the 80s when they closed the bathhouses down in SF....Jesus You would have thought they cut the arms off of all gay males in SF with the screaming and outrage. A lot of places nowadays let you donate blood to yourself prior to a scheduled surgery, specifically so that you don't run the risk of catching social deseases from scumbags like these DUmbasses.

YEP! I've had surgery several times and ALWAYS went in to donate my OWN blood "just in case"!
