Fla. Gov.: We won't comply with health care law
By GARY FINEOUT
The Associated Press
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. —
Florida Gov. Rick Scott now says Florida will do nothing to comply with President Barack Obama's health care overhaul and will not expand its Medicaid program. The announcement is a marked changed after the governor recently said he would follow the law if it were upheld by the U.S. Supreme Court.
"Florida is not going to implement Obamacare. We are not going to expand Medicaid and we're not going to implement exchanges," Scott's spokesman Lane Wright told The Associated Press on Saturday. Wright stressed that the governor would work to make sure the law is repealed.
Scott told Fox News the Medicaid expansion would cost Florida taxpayers $1.9 billion a year, but it's unclear how he arrived at that figure.
Scott said the state will not expand the Medicaid program in order to lower the number of uninsured residents, nor will Florida set up a state-run health exchange, a marketplace where people who need insurance policies could shop for them.

Yeah it will probably cost more than 1.9 billion.

1. Didn't he take an oath to uphold the law?
Just asking.
So did 0bama, but you cheered when he decided to start ignoring laws.

2. Many in the comments section said the same thing. I hope the Feds come after him..n/t
The same feds that are allowing 0bama to ignore laws?

5. Have the feds been able to stop the voter registration suppression that the DOJ directed them to do?
Is this how it's going to be from now on? Any government agency will in essence get flipped off and ignored by the right? This is so bizarre to me-- the neocons are so ferocious and so determined to get their way that they would (apparently) go to any lengths to get it. So far, they have shown no signs of abating their insane diatribes-- which, I admit, does make me nervous. I don't even know how many of them there are-- obviously they're a slim minority but still, it could be thousands upon thousands with their ammo blazing coming down on Washington or wherever. Yikes
There is no voter suppression, but what you are referring to was allowed by the courts, but the DOJ won't do their part, once again the 0bama administration disregarding laws that they don't like.
I warned you DUmmies when you were cheering that 0bama started ignoring laws that you weren't going to like it when the repukes did it. Your president set the precedent that laws that are not liked can be ignored.

Hey DUmp shits. The law gives states the choice to Opt out, and that is what Florida (And, now, 27 states (Including New Jersey now) are doing.

Exactly - Scott is complying with the law - the law gives states the option to opt out without federal government penalty as determined by Roberts & the liberals on the USSC.

Actually, the SC ruling prevented HHS taking away current Medicare funding from states that opted out. The recent posts on DU are showing the DUmmies had no understanding of the law and are now entering the WTF phase.

Good, maybe next they will enter the mass suicide phase. Who wants to get the Kool-aid ready?

Its going to be simply delightful. Since Roberts penned the majority decision, and the liberals in the majority agreed with it, there is no way they can call out the conservative justices for any of this..
-So primitives, who is playing 11th dimension Vulcan Hyperchess now, bitches ?

I just read something that I forgot about. If you have a "Cadillac" health plan like a few DUmmies brag about, they tax that too!! Yeah I know, unions exempt (for now).

Please, please read the other thread about retiring early. Means testing will be eliminated. So, the DUmmies are already planning to retire early, get down to an income that makes them eligible for Medicaid, whilst having hundreds of thousands in assets. UGH UGH UGH!

In their twisted world, complying with the law is wrong. :mental:

Not as long as it is a law that they agree with. Any that they don't, they just ignore.

They are so hyperfocused on Florida.
Bob McDonnell of VA said basically the same thing.

I like the opt out option. Opt out and maybe some of the deadbeats and illegal aliens will move to an "opt in blue state"...win-win... :yahoo:

Unfortunately, Dandy Andy Cuomo won't opt out . . .

If the law is allowed to stand, it will be the ruin of 'blue states' nationwide, as sudden population increases cause spikes in unemployment, crime*, and housing prices.
*I'm not suggesting that all of the poor are criminals here - what I am saying is crime is a natural consequence of increased population density straining available resources.

Yeah, isn't it awesome that whatever the liberals in the city want, Albany has to force it on the rest of us upstate.
-
Which makes this an even more unworkable cluster**** than it already is. Applies to some and not to others? What happens when you cross state lines? This country is based on equal protection and application of the law (regardless of how zero ignores those he doesn't like). Makes my head explode.

Ohio has stated the same. Fyi
