Amy Winehouse dead at 27
« on: July 23, 2011, 01:34:59 PM »
The singer Amy Winehouse has been found dead at her flat in north London at the age of 27. The award-winning artist, famous for hits including Rehab from the critically-acclaimed album Back to Black, was discovered by police in the late afternoon. Her death was being treated on Saturday night as "unexplained".

The Metropolitan police said: "Police were called by London ambulance service to an address in Camden Square shortly before 16.05hrs today, Saturday 23 July, following reports of a woman found deceased. On arrival officers found the body of a 27-year-old female who was pronounced dead at the scene."

And the world says, "Took her long enough."

And now her transformation into a skeleton will be complete.

Very first thing I though upon seeing the title was drugs.

Kind of goes without saying.  It was either a drug overdose or something in her body -- likely her heart -- gave out because of her long-time addiction.

Not a good comparison. I didn't listen to her music, but she was talented. She's the one Brit that could fit in with the old-time R&B scene in New Orleans.

Not surprised she's dead; surprised she made it to 27.

Not suprised, but not happy either. I didn't listen to her music but she was talented. A recovery from her could have inspired others. Seems like a complete waste of life.

Nope, he's in there. Just scroll down a bit to find him and another one pre dating him.

She had multiple disorders/addictions and one of them was bulimia...that was probably the one that wore her heart out...such a shame.

Nikki Sixx from Motley Crue was once pronounced dead at the scene from a heroine overdose. Lucky for him one of the guys who responded was also a fan. He said that Sixx would not die on his watch. He stuck a needle in his heart (Pulp Fiction style) and brought him back to life (the song Kickstart My Heart was inspired by that insident). It still took a few years for him to get sober, but he did.

He has been sober for almost 20yrs now and his side band called Sixx AM donates all earnings to rehab places. Winehouse could have done the same if she survived. Celebrities dying like this does not help the teenagers who look up to them. Actually someone like Keith Richards who keeps going and going doesn't help much either. But, this is a shame because I think she could've helped people like Nikki Sixx is doing.

Yah, that's an awesome story...thanks for posting this ..^5

Investigators are still saying that they don't even know as to the real reason for her death...they're waiting for toxicology reports....experts are saying it's almost certainly an OD though.   Just heard this on the tube.
