former9thward (11,934 posts) 11. She called several times. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said that Vinson called the agency several times before flying, saying that she had a fever with a temperature of 99.5 degrees. http://www.cbsnews.com/news/ebola-nurse-called-cdc-several-times/ I'm sure the CDC would love to blame the "receptionist" given their history of blaming whoever is on the bottom.
former9thward (11,934 posts) 12. It certainly is true. They have admitted it.In the case of Amber Vinson, the Dallas nurse who flew commercially as she was becoming ill with Ebola, one health official said "somebody dropped the ball." The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said that Vinson called the agency several times before flying, saying that she had a fever with a temperature of 99.5 degrees.
Autumn (17,608 posts) 5. So CDC which is it, stay off public transportation or take public transportation wherever you want. This is ****ing stupid.
upaloopa (4,671 posts) 9. Maybe her fever was not high enoughto be contagious with Ebola. Of course all the DUer Ebola experts no more than the CDC Still more fear and hype
former9thward (11,934 posts) 10. Wow.She had worked with an ebola patient and told them she had a fever -- and you are defending the CDC telling her she can fly??? Wow...vi5 (10,692 posts) 15. Politics trumps all.If there's any chance that any department over which Obama might have even the slightest control or say, then we must deflect. Must protect Dear Leaders integrity at all costs.

I blame the nurse first. Common sense should always prevail. She knew the score, but she did it anyway. Two stupids don't make it an excuse for such carelessness and disregard for others. That nurse should never have called for "permission". Spiking a fever was all the information she needed to know what to do next.

The fever was 'low-grade,' though. It hadn't spiked . . . yet. (That was the next day, at the hospital she worked at.)
I just read an article that said 21 days quarantine might not be enough. Some doctor familiar with Ebola says 31 days is better because 12% of Ebola patients don't come down with Ebola in just 21 days but later.Lets recap here....lung disease that kills and/or cripples the young and a killer disease to get the rest.....Bill Ayers will have his 25 million one way or another.
After all the panic mongering, I pity anyone on an airplane with a passenger who gets airsick. There's likely to be an airborne riot.
It happened at LAX. A woman from Africa got airsick on the plane. The airport had the plane taxi off and the passengers had to sit there for two hours before they decided she hadn't been exposed to ebola. (She was from So. Africa)
Looks like the White House is laying the groundwork to throw Doc Frieden under the ol' Obama bus.
If they do, I hope he says the the "no travel ban" policy came from the White Mosque. Something like 70% of those polled favor a travel ban. Right now, it's only the CDC, Dems and the White Mosque that don't think it's a good idea.
Yup. The bus may accelerate as it goes over him, too.
