Oh my.

Dear old sweet Lu must have a really bad case of the runs again--hookworm does that to one--as one of the drones had to start the daily thread.

1. Seafood feast

Cod, shrimp, and clams.

The RG is making this wonderful corn/potato combo and it will go over some buttermilk biscuits with the seafood and vegetables on top. The vegetables are zucchini sliced in ribbons and braised leeks. Oh, also, there is some type of goat cheese mixed in there.

It's quite the production.

I am making a plain arugula rustica salad. This is a particularly pungent type of arugula that grows wild in Italy. I have it growing all over the place here.

For dessert, about 1 Tablespoon of Talenti caramel sea salt ice cream. (We have cut back out sugar consumption considerably, but not 100% )

Oh, and the wine! Two bottles red, one white.

Our lawyer friend is coming over, so should be fun.

Okay, this is one of the lesser reasons I brought over this thread (besides to give the latest update on dear old sweet Lu's condition, for those who are concerned).

The NJCher primitive almost every time uses "RG," obviously a person in her life, probably a love-mate looking for an easy lay.

What does one suppose "RG" stands for?

2. Dunno yet. Was out weeding the garden earlier

and also picked a double handful of strawberries, so I'm up to close to a pint already for the first 4 days of the season. Hoping I can top last year's 3 gallons of strawberries season. So far, only had to pitch a couple of berries for slug damage.

Reminds me, I need to go out and water. The cucumbers, pumpkin and garlic look positively parched.

That all sounds revolting...zucchini and seafood?
Just no.

"RG" is her husband....she refers to him as the Resident Gourmand.

What's with the fizzy one?  Where is her hubby?

First thought was "Real Girl", from an outstanding comedy movie "Lars and the Real Girl".

But Dori's answer is right.

I wonder what the RG thought of NJCher's puke stew (photo available on request).

7. gah! I ate 1350 mg sodium for dinner!

Someone gave me a pkg of Ina Garten's frozen boeuf bourguignon. So we cooked it up tonight. It smelled good, and it was tasty, although not much meat.

Then I looked at the package. YIKES! That much sodium in a serving.

We rarely eat any frozen dishes, so I am sure not used to that kind of content.

That's a little over a half teaspoon of salt.

Drink a big glass of iced tea and you'll get rid of it.

Dear old sweet Lu must be over the runs--although I'm sure it took a lot out of her--and started today's "what's for supper?" thread.

Pretty good for a hotplate in an abandoned bodega.

But it's her first imaginary menu in a long time without at least a few foreign words.

20. enjoy your alone time

I'm guessing that the cbayer primitive, when she got drunk and out of hand in New Orleans, did things that really embarrassed her husband.

New Orleans?  I had lost track of the cbayer primitive.  It would appear that they wore out their welcome and absconded from Mexico.

Well, they got down the western coast of Mexico, and then up the eastern coast, and then over to New Orleans, where last weekend they attended a wedding.

At which the cbayer primitive admitted she got tanked, really tanked.

I thought preacher's kids were raised better than that.
