Most conservatives are good people.

We are accustomed to responding to dittoheads and crazy bigots, but there are some Republicans that are not insane and do not listen to Limbaugh incessantly. We may not agree with them on a lot of issues but that does not mean they are not good people.

They go to work and work hard. They will watch the football game this Sunday and some will drink more than their share of brewskis. Some may even imbibe in a hit off the old bong, from time to time?

All conservatives do not think alike, just as all liberals do not think alike.

I only point this out to show where the division is actually coming from and how we contribute to the division by reacting in the manner we do.

This political division is bad for all of us and we need to end it.

A mixed bag of reactions, but most primitives aren't smart enough to get his point, and he's dumb as a rock, which says even less about the rest of them. Very low IQ's for the few that have one that even registers.

These whack jobs need the majority to bind together to fight "the 1%." They know they can't do it alone. It's the nucleus of their conversations on the island and other lib pol sites. While I can't speak for anyone here, or for conservatives in general, I have no intention of joining forces with them for any reason. They are immoral in every regard and hate the US Constitution. All the attempts in the world they try to make nice to "fight a common enemy" won't work.

Libs, let me put it in your terms. If the 1% ever try to rule over we conservatives, we'll take them out of the picture, and we won't need you. YOU are a much bigger threat to liberty, justice and freedom than the rich will ever be. I'm personally hoping you libs grow a pair and try a major uprising in this country; more than this weak OWS crap. Waiting to gain it via the ballot box just shows us how weak you are. And just like me, there's many conservatives who are itching for you to try something, because we have some plans of our own.

I recognized very early on that I just cannot deal with stupid rightwing dumbshits. I just have no tolerance. I've tried to construct a life free of them, and have largely succeeded. One exception: my mother's racist dumbass boyfriend, who I am forced to interact with.

I guess when you live in your mother's dumbass boyfriend's basement you have to interact from time to time. Hey, DUmmie, have you ever heard the tale of the scorpion and the frog?  Feel free to nadin it if you haven't, and maybe you'll understand why I have no desire to do anything other than see your collectivism have a stake run through its black heart.

That whole "we're in this together" thing left the station a long time ago - right about the time you shitbags were calling myself, and my military brothers/sisters, the most vile and foul things imaginable.

If you don't believe me, check out my threads for the last 13 years.  

But I have come to the conclusion that we are headed to a very bad place if we do not change direction.

We can never surrender to bigotry and hatred but we need to change how we fight it. Picking up guns and going to battle is not an option, in my opinion.

However, we must show by our actions and our words that we are the more rational, the more sensible, and the more "uniting" Party. Simply hurling words and stones across the river at each other and we end up like the Hindus and the Muslims in India in 1947, as depicted in the movie, Gandhi.

Also, and more importantly, this is the best way for us to win the political battle. We can show a clear distinction between the liberals and the conservatives. It does not mean that we surrender anything that we believe in. We know they are wrongheaded and racist in many of their views. We can only hope that there are some common sense, rational Republicans that will reject those ideas, if given the chance. I think we should give them the chance.

Granted, it may not work. Sensing victory, they may only double-down with their hateful rhetoric? But the alternative is taking us all to a very bad place, in my opinion.

A few observations:

Headed to a bad place? Yes, you're well on your way (for those who aren't already there).

Libs have already surrendered to bigotry and hatred.

You definitely don't want to get into a shootin' match.

You will never be able to present yourselves as the "more rational, the more sensible, and the more 'uniting' Party" to good and decent people as long as you continue to ignore longstanding moral principles, which you show no indication that you're willing to do. You need to continue to expand your base of moochers, the morally bankrupt, and malcontents in order to gain control. There's plenty out there, and they'll never be satisfied with whatever you do. But they are the foundation of your team.

So long as you continue to place false labels on those you disagree with rather than confronting why they disagree with you, you are forever in a position where you will, at some point, always lose.

Immorality never works. And libs are, above all, immoral.

GOP Fully Understands The Misery It Causes And Plans To Double Down.

Quit giving the GOP the "benefit of the doubt" saying that they don't get what they are doing or do not understand that their policies are damaging and even deadly. They fully know that are assholes and are determined act the way they do. To give them any benefit of doubt enables them. We should be getting in their face even militantly if we have to. You cannot face a bully without going after them and challenging them right to their face.

I realize a lot of DU'ers feel we have to take the good boy scout approach and act like the good guys and people will understand. A lot of voter look at that approach as weakness or cowardice. We are in a country that values fighting back rather than turning the other cheek or negotiating.

As a former military vet I support going on offense and being offensive when necessary.
