Proud of myself
« on: September 01, 2011, 01:33:38 AM »
Like Frank says, one doesn't get recognized  unless one blows their own horn once in while. Since May 27th, I've lost a total of 45 Lbs. I want to lose another 20 lbs before the Dallas get together and another 20 before October 15th (That might be pushing it.) I've been walking every day, despite the intense heat, doing some light weights (high reps) and some light calisthenics. I've also had to stop my insulin because of the low blood sugars I was getting every night.  :yahoo:

Nice going, Thor!  :cheersmate:

I'm still hanging at around a 57 lb. weight loss myself, so I know how good you're feeling.

This is great news!

two more pounds vanished over the last couple of days. 20 to go until I hit my actual goal weight for the end of Sept. and 40 to go until I hit my overall goal. I was bad tonight, though. I went and bought a couple of candy bars.  O-)

I'm so proud of you! I know your weight was really bothering you, and you're doing great!!!

Euph....you too, are doing great! How's Mrs E doin' with hers?

I'd gained 5lb back, because I wasn't paying much attention to what I was eating while I was trying to get my hair to grow back in (too quick of weight loss caused my hair to start falling out  :bawl: ). Since I started working at the new job mid-July, I've lost 10lbs. Part of it's working til 4am, and part of it has been stressing over a few things.

We're both basically holding steady, thanks. I'm down around -55 lbs and Mrs. E around -36. Sometimes I'll go up slightly (like at the moment), but a couple-three days of lotsa water and rabbit food and I'm back where I was. I can get used to this.  :-)

With the walking & exercise, my back has been killing me the last couple of days. My knees ache, my elbows are acting up (they were both hyperextended numerous times during my Judo days). I have severe muscle burn and yes, I'm whining!!

Don't worry about the whining!! You are probably using muscles you haven't used in a while. Would it help to do a few stretches before walking? or perhaps down an advil?? Don't give up, when you have come so far. All this hard work will pay off in the long run...

Now that's just silly debk. ::)  Pecans should be saved for Pralines. :hammer:

Ingredients:
•2 cups brown sugar, firmly packed
•1/4 cup water
•1/4 cup evaporated milk
•2 cups pecan pieces and halves
•2 teaspoons vanilla
•3 tablespoons chilled butter, cut in pieces
Preparation:
Combine sugar, milk, and water in a 2-quart saucepan; heat to boiling stirring constantly. Cook until mixture reaches soft ball consistency (235°).Remove from heat; stir in pecans, vanilla, and butter. Immediately drop by tablespoons onto wax paper

And even I can make those.

(fudge, on the other hand, not so much, usually it is a good idea to buy plenty of French Vanilla ice cream when I try... :whistling: )

Pecans go best in everything!!!!

especially when they are right up there with cashews as my favorite edible nut.

that I'm willing to chop up.....
