11. No one in the family

works for the private sector. Gubmint checks are a McInsane tradition.

Um, government checks are a DU tradition, too, but you guys don't do anything to actually earn them.
Let nothing trouble you,
Let nothing frighten you.
All things are passing;
God never changes.
Patience attains all that it strives for.
He who has God lacks nothing:
God alone suffices.

My thoughts exactly.

The subway cat, who condemns corporate subsidies, oftentimes forgets she's subsidized too.

A subsidized enterprise = the subway cat, same thing.

No difference.

23. I disagree with McCain on many issues, but I do like him

I see him sort of like my grandfather, who was someone else whom I disagreed with on many issues, but didn't dislike personally at all.

people projecting parental qualities onto political leaders are missing the point in a really and truly
fundamental way . . . . the government is not your family.  your family is your family.  the government
isn't even your friend.

anyway, I though this would be the end of this silliness . . . . but I was mistaken

25. Did your grandfather have a mean sense of humor?

Here are two examples of the wit of John McCain:

" Do you know why Chelsea Clinton is so ugly? Because Janet Reno is her father."

"Leonardo Di Caprio is an androgynous wimp."

You only know the public side of McCain. Listen to those who have known him for years and see what they think of him.

And those examples pale in comparison to the ethical violations he commited as a member of the notorious "Keating Five."

um, are we really going to charge for having a "mean sense of humor"?  personally, i think he is
exactly right about dicaprio, and the chelsea joke was funny as hell.

Hmmm..... haven't Bill 'n' Hillary have spent a big chunk of their adult lives living in public housing at the taxpayers' expense?

I thought liberals wanted everyone on the government payroll . . . none of that messy, unfair capitalism, with all of it's wal-marts, and such.
