Well, they do have that big house down there that they donated to some charity that isn't allowed to use it so the Kennedys didn't have to pay property taxes on it.
You know, I could never figure out why that never made it in the media, that story.
It was uncovered by
Spy magazine shortly after William Kennedy Smith raped that one woman in the mansion down there at Palm Beach.
Spy magazine pre-dated Skins's island, but it was the sort of magazine that would have appealed to many primitives, the literate ones.
That place was deeded by Joseph Kennedy to some organization for the mentally retarded, during the late 1950s, early 1960s, meaning it became exempt from property and other taxes.
However, the deed specified that the Kennedys were to have unlimited access to, and use, of the place.....and that the charitable organization could not enter, or inspect, the premises without beforehand permission of the Kennedys.
As
Spy then reported, that organization, at least by the early 1990s, had
never been allowed in, or on, the premises, even though they'd "owned" it for more than thirty years by then.
Talk about a tax dodge.
