Ruh Roh!!! They get a little closer to the truth and then break out the lighter fluid for the bonfire.
Idjits.
As for the OP -
Closing stores earlier or on Sundays would never fly.
The other ideas (not whining, starting your own business) are sound ideas. No wonder DU is pissed!
I've always wondered how much extra overhead stores are spending by staying open 24x7. I have stopped in at a few stores in the middle of the night and would see maybe 3 or 4 other shoppers. Is it really worth paying for staff and utilities for such a low volume of business? My daughter works for Walmart, I may ask her to introduce me to her manager so I can ask just that question.
I agree that closing on Sundays probably would hurt many retail stores, but not staying open 24 hours a day is a different kettle of fish altogether IMO.
Most stores closed at 9 p.m. or so when I was younger They managed to stay in business.
I really don't recall what store that 1st went 24x7 in our area back then, but I wonder.... Did the change come from demand, or did the change create the demand?
As to the rest of the OP. I agree. Stop whining and looking for someone else to solve all your problems.
