I'm thinking of making tacos and such for dinner tonight, but that may change...Tues and Thurs are tough dinner days around here!
Listen, this was supposed to be a harmless thread about dinner and I asked you for advice on how to get what you were eating in my hometown. I don't need to justify to you why I live here in the same way you don't have to justify why you live in Texas. But I just want you to know that home values around here do not go down because it is desirable to live here. What your needs are different than mine, so please don't patronize me in saying I can't be "happy" here. I have feet so if I wanted to move, I can.In Brooklyn and very happy.
I was just kidding! Lighten up! Brooklyn is a great place. In fact, it is my favorite part of New York. It is home to a lot of normal people in a sea of liberal insanity. But y'all DO need a Jack-In-The-Box.
I swear LU, you run off all the good/new posters. Sheesh. Makes all us Texans look bad. KC
Tacos are welcome in my home especially fresh homemade guacamole.Tonight, we'll have stir fried string beans with minced pork -- rice on the side.
I love guacomole, but avocados don't love me. Not in 'that' way, they actually hurt my upper stomach something fierce within a half hour or so of eating anything avocado.
Try to route them to one of your other stomachs. The upper one is always the most sensitive. :innocent:
I meant the actual stomach versus the intestines. Thanks for pointing out the silliness in my vernacular.
To answer your question: Jack-In-The-Box is a restaurant. I don't know if they are in the northeast anymore since they had a controversy back in the 70's which pretty much soiled their reputation there. They used to be all over Maryland when I was a kid. They had them in Arizona when I lived there and they had a real hodge podge of selections of food and most of it was really good greasy spoon stuff. The shakes were pretty good too.As for dinner tonight, I am making pork chops, mashed potatoes, green beans, rolls, and a small salad on the side.
You Texans have a strange sense of humor!
You betcha sure!
Tonight.....peanut butter and jelly sandwich! Creamy Peter Pan peanut butter and strawberry jam on whole wheat bread.
I accidentally bought crunchy peanut butter a couple weeks ago. Damn stuff wouldn't spread at all. I'll stick with creamy. One of these days, I'm going to get around to doing fried PB&J's.
Try creamy peanut butter with bread and butter pickles. Awesome stuff right there.KC
Thanks for the reply. Yeah, you're right about there being no Jack-In-The-Box here.
You betcha sure!(Jack's iced caramel coffee is the best in the world. $1.89 for the Large!)
have you ever had a peanut butter sandwich (creamy peanut butter on bread...no jelly) with tomato soup? YUMMY!
EWWW!
Have been in Charleston SC since Sunday and have some wonderful meals.....and delicious raw oysters! Leaving for Savannah and Tybee Island this afternoon.Won't want to eat for a week by the time I get home on Sunday....
