In celebration of the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety's 50th anniversary, a 1959 Chevrolet Bel Air was crashed into a 2009 Chevrolet Malibu.

According to safety engineers at the scene, the driver of the 2009 Chevrolet Malibu would likely have suffered slight knee injury.  The driver of the 1959 Chevrolet Bel Air would have died instantly.

It should be a crime to intentionally destroy a classic like that.

"The American people will never knowingly adopt socialism. But, under the name of 'liberalism,' they will adopt every fragment of the socialist program, until one day America will be a socialist nation, without knowing how it happened." --Norman Thomas, 1944

Here is the car that was destroyed... I'm not a huge fan of 50's Chevrolets, but that's a damn shame.
