Obama taps DeParle as health czar
« on: March 02, 2009, 05:02:43 PM »
we've got another Obamaczar.  this is the most dysfunctional management structure ever created.  I'll give it a year before if falls in on itself.

and have you noticed how populist his rhetoric has become lately, and how if you don't agree with him, you are no longer worthy of "reaching across the aisle", or "unity", or "healing".  you are a dirty lobbyist, or corporate toady, and if you aren't actually a criminal, you are at vet least beneath his dignity.  that's a lot of sanctimonious bullshit right there.

and I wish he would stop telling everyone that he won his election.  so did every single one of the republicans that intend to oppose his government takeover of the healthcare industry.  they also have constituents, and not all of them are obamagasmic about selling the country off to the central government because the most unqualified individual to ever hold the office of president thinks that it's the thing to do.

Obama taps DeParle as health czar

President Barack Obama filled out his health-care overhaul team Monday by naming Nancy-Ann DeParle, a veteran of the Clinton administration, as the White House health czar.

DeParle will join Kansas Gov. Kathleen Sebelius, the nominee for Health and Human Services Secretary, as key figures in Obama’s push to pass a comprehensive health care reform bill within a year.

The decision to appoint DeParle shows that Obama has decided to split into two the job once meant for Senate Majority Leader Tom Daschle, who was tapped as both health secretary and health czar. Daschle was forced to step aside last month amid questions about his taxes.

Obama made the announcement days ahead of a White House health care forum, and used the event to set the stage for what will be a contentious few months of negotiations.

“I realize that there are those who simply don't believe Washington can bring about this change, and the odds are long,” Obama said.

“But I also know this. I didn't come to Washington to take the easy route or to work for the powerful and the well-connected interests who have run this city for too long,” Obama continued. “I came here to work for the American people. I came here to deliver the sweeping change that they demanded when they went to the polls in November.”
