Kitchen experiment.

  In my search for Gluten free food I sent hubby out to buy Rice flour.

He came home with about 2 cups of flour What the hell, this is nuts. That cost more then 5 pounds of regular wheat flour.

So I decided to risk the cost of breaking an expensive blender and dragged it out of the back of the pantry where it lives for most of the year.

Holding my breath I placed 2 cups of white rice and a Tablespoon of old bay in the blender and let it rip.

Son of a Gun, playing with the blender On for 60 seconds off and stirring with spoon the mixture, then on again, perhaps 6 times and there it was, Rice flour and seasoned to boot.

I have no idea how my fried chicken will cook up or taste, but it occur ed to me that I could add to the rice flour dried herbs and spices, store it and use for gravy's or sauces.


This will be fun, I wonder if I can make rice bread, cakes or substitute this for Arrow Root.?

This is what I am trying to find out.

Out of the Blue I developed nerve damage so bad I broke my ankle. Hubby had been asking me for 2 weeks why I was walking funny, I had no pain then but began to feel awful, flu symptoms with no fever but cold chills.

I was standing outside in one spot looking at my garden I just fell over, no reason but I heard the bone snap.

After 3 doctors I was tested by this doctor that zaps electric currency into your nerves and he diagnosed me with severe nerve damage.

That was 18 months ago and I have checked every web site spoken with doctors and patients and finally found a common problem, dozens of people with nerve damage are also allergic to Gluten and get flu symptoms when they eat something with hidden fillers or MSG.

I found a paper on this allergy, printed it out and took it to my doctor to read and was told to give the diet a try, I have nothing to loose.

Good news is that by staying off my feet 22 hours a day some kinds of regeneration is going on as the the new test I just had shows some improvement.

I would suggest that there's more going on than just some sort of allergy. Do you have diabetes??  That's a common cause of neuropathy. I would recommend that you find a good neurologist and have them check you out. Were you in Texas, I have a dandy Neuro to recommend.  You don't need a referral if you're on Tricare Standard.

I have the neuropathy and it's caused by that spinocerebellar ataxia I have, or so we think. It could also be caused and/or aggravated by the diabetes and the spinal cord injuries/ surgeries.

MSG also affects me pretty negatively. However, I wouldn't say that I'm allergic to it.

He told me that a lot of people had problems with it, and their restaurants had quit using it.

Someone recently told me that "Tiger Salt" (?) is the same thing, just a different name....guess "Praise Allah" is not the best name, these days ...

I can't say that I'm allergic to it either, but there are times that I've had it, that the effects have been so bad, I've contemplated going to the hospital, and I have passed out from the effects. Scary stuff. Used to be, the closer the incidents of having it, the worse the effects.

Vesta, honey, there is some damn expensive blood test for celiac disease.  My gastroenterologist sent me for one in Tucson because I was exhibiting signs of the disease.  Markers came back where I'm susceptible to the durn disorder but don't have it yet.  I hope you don't, but get that blood test!!

The blood test for my SCA cost me $1K out of pocket. Tricare picked up the other $4K that they allowed. Initially, the company charged some $8K+
