You and Ann are both dead on...We tried it in '86 and the result of giving about 10 million votes to the Dims, nothing else.
I grew up with Mexicans, consider them a part of my heritage and proud of it, but they are home-conservatives, that is INSIDE their own home and like blacks they look to local leaders to follow the drum beat. I am watching (and SUGGEST all of you do also) San Antonio Tex and its Mayor Julian Castro or 'Obama Latin' as we call him. He went to Harvard, is a lawyer, wrote a book about himself, was keynote speaker at the DNC 12 convention, at my last check he has been to the WH 13 times and was a frequent overnight guest. Worse his mother was a 60 radical who hung with Chavez Gurerra an open communist socialist and her son has not fallen far from the tree. There is already talk of him running for Prez and being the Dims answer to Rubio, who they see as an outsider, he is from Cuba and is not a Mexican, Cuban vote usually goes conservative, but Mex vote does not.
I see zero chance for a GOP WH run that has a chance of winning before 2024...IF that soon and at that point in time not sure that it will make any difference. You cannot UNBREAK it
