Title: Favorite Bible Book
Post by: FlaGator on April 29, 2008, 08:18:12 AM
Once again, I have been rereading selected sections of the Bible and I have found that I really enjoy reading Isaiah. I'm not sure if this topics  has been done before but if not what is your favorite book of the Bible and why. Reading Isaiah I have found that I love the way many chapters parallel the Gospels of the New Testament. I also find the chapter 6 where Isaiah first encounters the Lord to be a spiritually uplifting recounting of a Heavenly encounter. The oracles of the nations also appeal to me especially the oracle concerning Babylon in chapters 13 and 14.

Isaiah is a favorite.  It is a reaffirmation of the Lord.

Matthews is my favorite in the New Testament.   What a wonderful story to tell!

Psalms will always be THE favorite.  It is full of wisdom and good advice.  To me, Psalms is the highlight of the Old Testament.

I love Psalms too. There is just something fulfilling when you read them. It's hard to explain but they make me feel good. As for the New Testament, I've taken a real shine to the Gospel of John. The way it is written is almost like poetry, especially the first chapter and the message of Christ is so well defined and presented.

Anything in the Old Testament because God is angry and vengeful. The way that God should be.  :evillaugh: :-)

God definitely had more character in the Old Testament days... not necessarily good character, but more.

Oh, I dunno.

Anything in the Bible that expresses Hope, which is damned near all the whole Bible.

Too bad some, uh, skeptics, here don't know anything about Hope.

Not a book but a verse.

PSALM: 23

I read it every day when I was in Iraq and the infrequent times I'm in church now I ALWAYS read it.

It's what got me through my year over there.
