Imagine that Trump goes to jail for tax-fraud and violating the emoluments-clause and multiple cases of obstruction of justice and multiple cases of racketeering (for his money-laundering for the russian mob).

Trump would go to a nice white-collar jail, where the other inmates are your usual non-violent tax-frauds and embezzlers.





And now imagine being Trump's cell-mate.

Imagine Trump whining and boasting and blathering and yelling and threatening and promising and cajoling and swearing and meandering and mentally drifting off ALL. DAY. LONG.

You sit in your cell.

And you have to listen to this all day long.

I'm sure both Clinton's and OhBummer!'s IRS fine-tooth-combed almost every Trump tax return from tax year 1986 through tax year 2016. Just to screw more $$ out of him.

Despite DUpipo's fantasies, I think the Ds' real purpose in trying to get Trump's tax returns was so they could harass people with whom he did business and charities to which he contributed.

There's no penalty specified in the emoluments clause, the only clear penalty is having to give up the gift.  IMHO there's also no provable violation, since it covers only completely gratuitous gifts, not any commercial dealings.
