It looks like I'm going to run for State House.
Through an interesting series of events I'll likely be the Democratic candidate for my legislative district, seeking in November to defeat a 4-term Republican with a sizable (mostly out-of-state, I think) war chest. I've always relied on DU for inspiration and perspective about politics, and I'll continue to check in, both to post how the campaign is going and to seek encouragement and fresh ideas about the process.

Candidate Ron Green, of Oregon's 15th District. Simultaneously Red and Green.

I sincerely hope he is honest with the good people of Linn County about his DU life.

He should heed the lesson of Steve Dawes, the Bellevue Bolshevik. Honesty is the best policy, even if one is dragged to it kicking and screaming.

I sent a message to his opponent's campaign letting them know that the DUmmy is a DUmmy.  :-)

Looks solidly blue, unless the district map has changed since then.  The Dem won in 2010 with 70+% of the vote.  I'm referring to the congressional seat, not the one where the DUmmy is running.

I'm sure the statehouse seat has much different geography than the Congressional one, then, if the incumbent is a four-term Republican.  The Congressional district must rope in one of the Lefty cities.
