Since Barack Obama won the election. Congratulations to him. There were so much enthuiastic support for him, never I have seen in my life, not even Clinton, Bush, or Kerry had that. Obama was a great speaker who could reach out to people and had this youthful appeal and was young. They treated him like a messiah. However, I think Obama will have a very tough road ahead.
Once Obama becomes President, he is going to have a tough road ahead. Many of his supporters will be disappointed because little change happens. Economy does not repair itself quickly as many like to think. Stock market is not a good indicator. The stock market is volatile whether there is a depression or economy boom. The economy is a cycle, there are booms and busts, which is about a decade. The government caused most of the economic and financial problem we are in, which was simmering for decades.
Obama will most likely be a one term President. He is like Jimmy Carter, tries to paint himself as an outsider and promoter of change. There were a lot of expectation for Carter, like we are seeing with Obama and guess what, the economy was weak in the late 1970s, like it is today.
As for change, it starts with us, not the government. In many ways, the idea of divine rights to kings is back in the form of having people expecting the government to help us. The government cannot help us for everything.
