French youths fire on police in overnight clashes

About 100 French youths clashed with police overnight, shooting at police, torching cars, a leisure centre and a nursery school in the northern city of Amiens, a government official said.

Police reinforcements were being dispatched and Interior Minister Manuel Valls was due to visit the city, where two nights of violence were apparently sparked by tension over spot police checks on residents.

"Sixteen police were injured, some by buckshot fire," Thomas Lavielle, an official at the prefect's office in the region, told i>TELE TV station.

The Amiens suburb which erupted in violence has already been identified as needing extra policing by Valls' Socialist government.

This is just an uptic in the violence in one small area.  The riots they had a few years ago never really were controlled, Paris has cars set on fire every night by these "youths".  The French are allowing themselves to be over run by savages.

Correct.   Socialism can only survive up to the point where a vigorous free-market can still support it.  The problem, of course, it never stops wanting more and France does not have a vigorous free market.  If Germany wasn't so disciplined, they would be in deep kim-chee, too.

I would really like to say that we can do that.  I'm not sure it can be done without a real world example of collapse beyond repair.  Greece wasn't enough.  I'm afraid a country, like France, is going to have to essentially collapse and provide the final:

"OK, do you understand now, Idiots?"
