So it's a reflection on Paul Ryan on how the police treat a belligerent old fart.

Where does that leave Hanoi John after the infamous "Don't taze me bro!" incident?

That was a Kerry event, after all.

No reflection on Ryan, just what do the libs think he should have done ????

1:  could have stopped the event, left everyone sitting about for an hour or so while he back stage tried to reason with just one person ??

2: jumped into the middle of the arrest and demanded the old fart be turned loose ?

3:   ignored the fact that anything was going on.

4:   invited the man to the podium to address the crowd, on Ryan's time and money.

I have heard jokes cracked in times of stress, calmed the crowd.    I think Ryan did just fine and handled a difficult situation very well.

  • Rode hard and put up wet too many times.
Although I have tried to remain optimistic about the current situation in this country, I guess it's finally time for me to admit to myself that we are literally teetering on the edge of a total internal melt down, the likes of which we have never seen and will probably not survive.
------------------------------------------------------------------

Having a bad day Bondai,

Of course we will survive we manage to do so one way or the other, by hook or by crook.

You want to see some action, go visit a small town hall meeting.   Some towns broad cast their meetings on Public Access, they feel the public exposure will keep people somewhat polite and orderly.

I have been told that before Cable some of the meetings turned into such mayham that children under 18 were not allowed to attend.

Sort of what we have today with the old time Conservatives trying to keep the town as it was when they were born and the flood of young outsiders moving into town.

Here is how it worked, most of the town was farm land, when the 7 Th. generation owners died off they left the land to relatives that may never have lived in the town  or wanted to move there.  So with some bribes to the zoning commission the new owners sold out to contractors who built homes on the past farm  land.

In came a flood of new comers to the town that the only ties to the town was the new home they had bought.

New ideas and desires of the new people were beginning to take over the settled long generation family's community and change it radically.     To make matters worse the farmers that scrimpted and saved to send one or 2 children to College found that once educated their kids had no desire to make low wages living in the boondocks and enjoyed the enmities a city in another state has.

So--- Town meetings became and still is a battle ground for the generations.---Last big HOO HARR in my home town was when some young Lawyers bought a out of business day care building and wanted to turn it into a strip club.  WOW, the discussion of this moved into a High School Gym to hold all the pro and con citizens.

Then a bit later some out of townee's bought a farmers field and wanted to turn it into a medical pot growing business.   Back to the Gym for the town folk.

We survive, and will survive, older generations will get their blood pressure up and go spitting mad at the changes, they know if they do not stand their ground tomorrow an apple orchard will become a parking lot for Walmart.

One of the few benefits of growing old, after 70 years old unless one sets the volunteer Fire Department on fire, the chances of being incarcerated is slim.   May just get better medical care behind bars and a new set of choppers.

So rave on old timers, this is the American way.

Bad day? No not at all. Just like anyone else I feel the need to cut loose once in awhile, it's a good way to retain your sanity, and besides I've earned the right to do it. If I can't do it here in front of fellow conservatives and other like minded people then where in the hell can I do it? I certainly can't do it at DU and from what I have read lately I couldn't do it at FR either. It's my duty and my right to criticize elected officials and public servants like the police.(Let me note that I understand that it is not my "right" to post anything that suits me here at CC. Posting is not a right here, it's a privilege and the Admin/Mods will decide what is allowed and what is not.) Many of these officials and agencies have had a free rein for far too long. I am sure you are familiar with the saying,  "Give somebody an inch and they'll take a mile" In other words, if you allow someone to behave badly at all, they will start to behave very badly. I believe this to be true and I have seen examples of it my entire life.

As far as survival goes this isn't about just surviving, it's about surviving as the kind of nation that our founding fathers intended us to be. Not some liberal imposed socialist utopia that has been slowly but surely engulfing the entire country and is shoving us right to the edge of social and economic disaster. How can you possibly deny it? I challenge you to look around. Look at the government and see how it has extended it's tentacles into every aspect of our lives. Look at our education system. We have stood by and allowed liberal educators to indoctrinate our children. for example; The teaching of the idea that homosexuality is OK and normal. That having two mommies or two daddies is normal, and that we have to accept gays because they are "special" in some way. I not going to debate whether or not the gay lifestyle is acceptable, or immoral, or evil, that's not my point. I am saying that the topic of homosexuality should not be taught to children in our public school system, or even discussed in any way shape or form. This is clearly the responsibility of the parents, period. One more example; Obama Care. Now the government is going to have total control over our healthcare and we have not had one damn thing to say about it.To add insult to injury the so called "Conservative" justices on the SCOTUS tell us it's OK for the government to do this, it's OK that we can be told that we have to buy something and if we don't we will be fined or taxed or what ever the hell they call it. So I have to ask you, what's next? what is the next thing that the government is going to tell us we have to do or be punished in some way. Keeping in mind that the current list of government decrees already violates virtually every part of the constitution, and in all probability will never be reversed. Do I really need to sit here and list example after example? I don't think so, you know what the truth is you just won't admit it.

WTH Vesta. You know that what I am saying is true, how could you possibly deny it? Then you respond by saying, "Don't worry about it, it will be OK. We will survive, we have done it this long"

Total nonsense. I can't believe you even said that. Survive you say? in what form? and at what cost? If we continue along our current path we will mutate into something that our founding fathers would not be able to recognize as anything they created. It's pretty bad right now. It's just like a snow ball rolling down hill. Eventually it gets so big and is traveling so fast you can't stop it. Sadly I think we are very close to reaching that point with socialism in this country. Why do I think this? We only need to look at who is in the white house. Somebody put Obama in there, the majority of Americans voted for him right? That doesn't give me a whole lot of confidence in the ability of Americans to even recognize socialism when they see it, or the difference between right and wrong or what's right for the country. I watched a TV program in which a group of researchers went out on the street in cities all over the country and asked average American citizens questions about how the government works and about American history. By a huge margin the majority of those questioned were found to be totally clueless about the details of how their government worked or their own history. Then to really prove how stupid and uninformed they were, as if we needed anymore proof, close to 100% of those questioned could not tell researchers who their senators or Representatives were. I guess we don't have to wonder how Obama got elected.

I know that some of my views are not shared by other conservatives and I have been called different things through the years because of it, but as I have said before, I don't give a shit. So here we are. Mitt Romney is the republican candidate for the POTUS. Do I think Romney is a true conservative? no I don't. Do I think he is what's best for the country? no I don't. Do I have faith in his ability to steer the country away from socialism? no I don't. is he better than Obama? yes, absolutely. Are you going to vote for him? what choice do I have? considering the alternative. Now that I have everyone good and pissed off some may ask, then if you are going to vote for him why are you busting his balls? I'm not busting anything. I am pointing out that there are some fundamental flaws in some the ideas he has for running the country. In addition some of his views on current issues are a little too far left for my liking.

Another example of the Republican party's attitude of take it or leave it, is John McCain. I remember when I first heard about it, I'm like,McCain? really? are you joking? John McCain has been my Senator here in Arizona for as long as I can remember, and at one time when I was an impressionable young trooper in the Air Force I considered McCain as kind of a role model and a hero of sorts. But after years of watching his shenanigans I don't view him in the same way. The bottom line is I didn't think John McCain was qualified to be president, or even carry out the duties required by the Presidency. This is all water under the bridge and I'm not going to waste anymore time with it.

Do I have issues with Romney? damn right I do. But my real problem is the Republican Party itself and their unwillingness to put up a candidate whose views and core values are more closely aligned with mainstream conservatives. It has been shown many times throughout the country that if you run as a true conservative, promote conservative values and ideas and not waver from your position and get involved in this mamby pamby, bipartisan, fence walking, pandering bullshit that we see conservatives involved in today, there is a very good chance you will get elected. Regardless of what liberals would like us to believe the majority of people in this country will vote for a solid conservative candidate. This where we get into a dangerous area. Because of the Republican party's unfortunate decision to run candidates that are not true conservatives and do not hold solid conservative values or views, they have alienated older conservatives and their base if you will, even though this philosophy has proven to be a failure time after time. In the past mainstream conservatives were willing to look the other way or compromise a little on a candidate and go ahead and vote for him, but not anymore. The gap has become so big that there is no room for compromise and the mainstream is just sick and tired of being told that they have to vote for a candidate no matter what, and as a result, they don't vote. I don't have to tell you the result of this, he is sitting in the oval office. As if enough damage hasn't been done already, you have middle of the road conservatives, a few republican party members, some independents, undecided voters and maybe even some libertarians running around all over the place promoting the idea to anyone they haven't alienated already, that even though the Republican candidate is not a true conservative and may even lean left in a few areas that you should vote for him anyway. Why? because, "He is the lesser of two evils" anybody else ever hear this? I heard it a lot when McCain was running and it took me to a level of pissed off I don't like to go. The same result, anyone left that was undecided either doesn't vote or they vote for the other guy because of this asinine idea that is being promoted. OK that's enough. I have rambled on long enough and I think I explained my position.

Vesta, thanks for hanging with me through this latest tirade, I appreciate it. If I made you mad or insulted you in anyway it was not my intention to do so and I apologize. Good day.

Stupid is as stupid gets arrested.
“The national budget must be balanced. The public debt must be reduced; the arrogance of the authorities must be moderated and controlled. Payments to foreign governments must be reduced, if the nation doesn't want to go bankrupt. People must again learn to work, instead of living on public assistance.”
