They would not be able to borrow money and would be paying ten times the amount for food and energy the red states would. I would love to see this social experiment in action. In short the blue state union would be Detroit on steroids. Countries in Africa would be looking good to the Liberals trapped in the blue state hell. One thing, none of them get to immigrate to red state paradise.

I used to live in South Carolina. When the confederate flag issue arose, people used to stand outside the computer software campus at which I worked holding signs telling us Yankees to get the hell out of their state. The hatred was palpable and wide spread. There were a lot of wonderful people in the state but the racism and sectional resentment are just below the surface for too many folks. And it takes very little for it to bubble to the surface.

It's about whiney little pearl clutching liberals wanting to force their skittle-crapping unicorns on honest hard working people.

They come here for the clean air, the open spaces, the low taxes, the low crime, the high literacy and social tolerance of diversity, but as they bring their voting habits from their old homes with them, it's just a matter of time before they despoil this place too.

I know. I overheard some liberal mumbling under his breath about the "ignorant, inbred, knuckledraggers" that inhabit the South. (He also made a nasty comment about WV, where my wife is from.)

Notice how it's always the left that is the one calling for the country to be split up. They might say something along the lines of "We know all you Southern redneck conservatives want to secede," but then they never back it up with proof of any kind. There are a lot of yankee transplants here in the CSRA. Many, if not most, were military at some point in time (retired or veteran). Most of the ones I know are conservative as hell and fit in well down here. There are country folk in the north. Look at any hunting message board. You'll see people from every state, including Michigan, NY, etc., who are avid hunters and outdoorsmen. Sometimes we tend to generalize the north with their liberal cities. I know the NW Pacific area is crazy left, but you have people like Delilah that could school tons of women, and men, down here on farming, etc. Pennsylvania, between Pitt and Philly, is beautiful, although they do have to suffer through state politics.

...and he can rot in hell. A good friend of mine lives on the side of a hill in the Perry Valley overlooking the Susquehanna River in Liverpool, Pa. It's absolutely beautiful. I've traveled to Ft. Indiantown Gap many times as well. Very nice. Hershey and Gettysburg are nice as well (Save the libtard "art majors" in Gettysburg).

True story. Years ago, I got sent down to NC, Charlotte I think it was. Pretty big city. Anyway, I had to stay overnight. I get up the next morning and go to the fast food place across from the hotel to get some breakfast. I think it was Hardees or maybe McD's. I ordered their biggest breakfast platter and they put it in a clamshell. I go to the table, open it up, and right in the center is what looked to me like puke, all over the other stuff.
Well I took it back up to the counter, asked to speak to the manager, he came up and I said someone puked in my food and I wanted a new platter. He opened it up, laughed, and said it was grits. I said what? He said grits! Asked where I was from. Anyway he said to try it and if I didn't like it, he would make me a new platter. Well I had never had grits so I tried it. Tasted like what it looked like. He saw me coming back up to the counter and shook his head. Anyway he made me a new platter minus the grits, I thanked him, and I went on my way.
3 years later I get sent down there to train some managers on some new health regs that was coming out in that area. So I am standing up explaining this stuff, and lo and behold, at the question and answer part of it, this guy stands up and asks if I still hated grits.
It was the same guy. Of course I didn't remember him, but he remembered me and the rest of the managers at the class laughed their ass of when he told the story. From that day forward whenever I would go down there to train them they always brought me a thing of grits with a little placard on it that said: "Grits made especially for Perky" .
Anyway I got to know them pretty well and I started bringing them a couple of quarts of Granddad's 'shine labeled "Grits killer" whenever I was down there. My training session down there always had 100 percent attendance. :cheersmate:

All my kids looked at that stuff with great doubt. A couple of them tried a bite, but that was IT. :puke: After that, I had to specially request "No Grits" with every meal. Guess we were "damn yankees" alright!! :rofl:

Ribs aren't bbq, they are part of bbq and usually done first and removed to get at the bbq
People, don't listen to this North Kackalakian, their BBQ sucks. Matter of fact, no one in GA, NC, or SC knows what BBQ is. Stick with St. Louis, Memphis Pit, KC, or Texas BBQ. This shit on the East Coast SUCKS!!!

Actually, I have HEARD of McComas. Before cable and sat TV, when we lived in the "3 network era", we got 2 NBC stations, WHIS (now WVVA) out of Bluefield, and WSLS out of Roanoke.
I do remember seeing A. James Manchin's face on the TV all the time.

I took a trip once to a small town called Roanoke Rapids, NC. They put on a BBQ for us, and it was awesome. Yes, it was vinegar based, but not obnoxious. I like that flavor with pork. I used to get to the The South quite a bit on business, but I'd have to watch it. I love the food, and the atmosphere makes you eat with gusto. Fly back home and hit the gym. :-)
Grits I've tried and was underwhelmed. They taste like nothing, and look so unappetizing. You have to load on the butter, salt & pepper. Might as well just have an ear of sweet corn.

Wow, awesome. My dad was one when his father died in the Bluefield hospital, of food poisoning. Well, back in 1934 medicine had a long way to go! Anyway, granddad had been born in Scott county, VA, farmed and then went into mining, first in Wise county, VA, and then up to McComas. So, he musta gotten sick on West Virginian grub. :fuelfire: :tongue: :-)
He's buried in Princeton and my dad grew up with in an orphanage for boys in Tazewell, VA. His mom lived in the town and married again after first being his housekeeper, but the guy apparently didn't want any of her seven children living with him. :censored:
