Soot from diesel engines, coal-fired power plants and burning wood is a bigger cause of global warming than previously thought, and is the major cause of the rapid melting of the Arctic's sea ice, Stanford climate experts say.
...
In a report to be published Thursday in the Journal of Geophysical Research, Jacobson noted that soot particles - both black and brown carbon - come not only from burning fossil fuels in industry and transportation, but also from the immense quantities of wood and dung that are burned for heating and cooking throughout the developing world.
...
Controlling soot may be the only way to significantly slow Arctic warming over the next two decades, Jacobson said.
James Hansen, a leading climate data manipulator expert at NASA's Goddard Institute for Space Studies and an outspoken advocate of strong political action to combat global warming, agrees that soot is a major factor in the rapid melting of Arctic sea ice.

I thought we were over the melting ice thing already.
-
I would dare them to compare the soot output of ONE volcanic eruption to the output of humans.
More FAIL.

In the June edition of National Geographic Magazine, there's a big to-do about Greenland and how this "soot" impacts the ice sheets on the island.
Reading National Geographic makes me wanna go out and count my carbon credits. Great mag, but the global warming spew is just a bit too much.... :whatever:

Don't you know? It's summetime and the ice pack is receding maaaaannn!

I seem to recall in the 1980's that people were going around saying that the oceans would be dead in 20 years. It is now 2010 and the oceans are still thriving.
They were wrong then and they are wrong now.

If you should be sceptical of anything, it's what articles like this claim climate scientists think.
In reality, there are lots of drivers of climate change, but CO2 still seems to be the primary culprit.

Or the sun.

Only because Greenpiss went to sea in the Batboat and saved it.... :-)
Now they have a battle cry....."Remember the Batboat".
