You cannot really say ANY of the SCOTUS members is "conservative" except maybe Thomas.
I guess there are "degrees" of conservatism in which Thomas is most definitely more toward the right than the youngsters. The point is, Gorsuch, Kavanaugh, Coney-Barrett appear to be more toward the center, whereas Alito, IMHO, is not too far removed from Thomas on most issues. But if there's a "conservative" side to the court at all, that's where that group would be. Roberts is showing he can't be bothered with a lot of social issues.
I keep looking at GWB, who appointed Roberts, and have concluded that since Dubya snuggles up with both Clinton and 0bama, Roberts is exactly where Dubya placed him.
